Thanks for joining me here on Tribe as Crystal Palace thwarted Manchester United in a scoreless stalemate at Selhurst Park; I hope you’ve enjoyed our coverage; I’ve been Rory Morrow and I look forward to seeing you again soon for another live text commentary!
Up Next - Palace are away next time out, travelling to Goodison Park to play Everton in the league in a week’s time. United, in the meantime, begin their Europa League campaign against FC Twente at Old Trafford on Wednesday night. They’re then back in league action next Sunday when they host Tottenham Hotspur in the late afternoon kick-off.
United's third clean sheet of the week but not their third win. For moments in the first half, it looked like only a matter of time before they scored with Garnacho really lively off the left wing. However, they somewhat surrended the attacking impetus in the second half; unable to find the killer through ball and vulnerable to Palace counterattacks which, on another day, would have led to the concession of a goal. Still, de Ligt and Martinez continue to look like an excellent central defensive pairing whilst Hojlund, although he was unable to influence the result tonight, is back from injury which is a big boost for United's frontline as their busy schedule continues.
An excellent point, that, for The Eagles. Although they still chase their first league win of this season, that's three successive draws now for Crystal Palace. Their defence was, for the most part, watertight with Guehi, the captain, leading by example. Wing-backs, Munoz and Mitchell, were as busy as ever; thwarting United's wide players and helping Palace get up-field. A fine performance for manager, Oliver Glasner, to build on as his side go forwards.
IT FINISHES LEVEL - No goals but a point and clean sheet apiece for Crystal Palace and Manchester United at Selhurst Park. United had the better openings, especially in the first half where Henderson denied Garnacho and only the crossbar, in the same attack, denied Garnacho and then, Fernandes. In the second half, though, it was Palace who had the clearer opportunities with Onana denying Nketiah and then, Eze, spurning a glorious chance from six yards. Substitute, Sarr added energy to their attack and went close himself late on. It ends, though, as it started; goalless.

Down the left of United's attacking half, Lacroix clatters into Rashford late. He goes into the book. Fernandes's free kick misses everybody in the box and drifts behind out of play for a goal kick to the hosts.

Hughes' delivery, from the left, is smashed clear by Garnacho, back defending, on his own penalty spot.

CHANCE - Schlupp carries strongly down the left wing after being played in behind by Mitchell. Schlupp dances past Mazraoui before his cross to Sarr, six yards out, sees Martinez stretch to crucially block Sarr's effort behind for a corner!
