This draw leaves Chelsea's top-four hopes hanging in the balance, as fifth-placed Newcastle United can overtake them with a win over Wolverhampton Wanderers tomorrow. For Bournemouth, although they were left frustrated by the late equalizer, their continued strong form keeps them in seventh place, with European qualification now looking like a real possibility under Andoni Iraola.
Bournemouth quickly took advantage of a mistimed challenge by Moises Caicedo on Antoine Semenyo, with Kluivert converting the resulting penalty to level the score. Kluivert, who had replaced the injured James Hill in the 23rd minute, made no mistake from the spot. Chelsea thought they had an advantage when VAR flagged a foul by David Brooks on Marc Cucurella, but the Bournemouth player only received a yellow card. The match remained open, and with just over 20 minutes to go, Semenyo put Bournemouth ahead by powering a shot past Sanchez at the near left post. Chelsea pushed for an equalizer and found it in stoppage time when captain Reece James curled in a free-kick to secure a point for his side.
Chelsea made a fast start in their return to Premier League action, taking the lead in the 13th minute when Nicolas Jackson's reverse pass set up Cole Palmer for a composed finish past Mark Travers. Jackson played a key role in the opener but continued to struggle with his finishing, sending a bobbling cross over the bar later in the first half. The match then featured a dramatic sequence as both teams struck the woodwork within moments of each other, with Kluivert hitting the post before Jackson's effort curled narrowly wide. Chelsea should have extended their lead just before halftime, but Jackson's header from Palmer’s cross was straight at Travers, and he turned the rebound wide, leaving Chelsea with just a slender lead at the break.

James takes the responsibility, curling the ball around the wall with precision, sending it low to the bottom right corner.
