Manchester City now turn their attention to a massive Champions League showdown against PSG in midweek, before facing Chelsea in what promises to be another high-stakes Premier League clash next weekend. Meanwhile, Ipswich Town remain in 18th place and will have another tough test when they travel to Liverpool next weekend. Thanks for joining Tribe for this coverage. Until next time, this is Sanil Karan signing off.
As the final whistle blew, City’s dominance was evident, cruising to a commanding victory and moving into the Premier League’s top four once again. McKenna’s men were simply overwhelmed by the quality and fluidity of their opponents, with their defensive frailties brutally exposed. It was a statement performance from Guardiola’s side, who appear to be rediscovering their best form at a critical stage of the season. With PSG looming midweek, City will take great confidence from this ruthless display, while Ipswich will need to regroup quickly to bounce back from a humbling night.
City showed no signs of relenting, and as Ipswich tired, they were punished further. Haaland finally got on the scoresheet, finishing off a well-worked move inside the box, before McAtee added the sixth with a clever header over Walton after a delightful chipped pass from Kovacic. By that point, Guardiola had already begun resting key players, withdrawing Foden, De Bruyne, and Haaland to preserve them for the crucial Champions League tie against PSG. The changes naturally slowed City’s tempo, allowing Ipswich to see out the final moments with some possession but without any genuine threat.
Ipswich Town started with resilience, keeping Manchester City at bay in the early stages, with Walton making a few key saves to frustrate Guardiola’s side. However, the breakthrough came in the 27th minute when Foden found space inside the box and finished clinically, marking the beginning of City’s dominance. That goal seemed to unlock City’s attacking flow, and within the next 15 minutes, Ipswich's defensive shape crumbled. Kovacic hammered in a stunning strike from outside the box, and Foden grabbed his second with a low effort that Walton couldn’t keep out, effectively putting the game beyond reach before halftime. The second half offered little change in the pattern, as Ipswich struggled to gain any real foothold in the game. Their attempts to play out from the back were often cut out by City's relentless pressing, leaving them with few meaningful attacks. The fourth goal arrived in fitting fashion, with Doku’s direct dribbling causing havoc before his shot took a crucial deflection to beat Walton. That strike ensured there would be no way back for Ipswich, who were being outclassed in every area of the pitch.
90+3'
Luongo surveys his options and attempts a lofted pass into the right side of the box, aiming for Taylor's run. However, the ball has too much height and pace, sailing over Taylor’s head. It harmlessly goes out for a goal kick.
90+2'
Burgess lifts his head and attempts an ambitious pass forward, hoping to pick out Hirst in attack. However, the ball lacks accuracy and is read well by Gundogan, who steps in to intercept with ease.

90'
Ipswich attempt to build an attack down the left, looking for a way through City's defense. However, Philogene’s pass towards Davis is poorly weighted and lacks precision. It rolls harmlessly out of play, summing up Ipswich’s struggles in possession.
88'
Doku glides past defenders on the left flank before slipping a pass to Grealish, who is in support. Grealish initially struggles to retain possession, allowing Ipswich a brief opportunity to win the ball, but he quickly recovers and regains control. With the ball firmly back at his feet, Grealish decides to hold it on the left, choosing patience over an immediate attack.
