Bournemouth suffer consecutive defeats, slipping to 13th in the table. Brighton secure their fourth win in five H2H encounters, climbing to fifth place. That's it for this match but quickly switch tabs as the big match between Manchester City and Spurs kicks off soon. Until next time, this is Sanil Karan signing off.
Fabian Hurzeler's side struck early in the second half, with Joao Pedro setting up Kaoru Mitoma for a composed finish in the 49th minute. Bournemouth nearly responded immediately, but Evanilson missed from close range, and their chances improved when Carlos Baleba's second yellow card reduced Brighton to 10 men. The Cherries pressed relentlessly, creating chances for Semenyo and Kluivert, and almost capitalized on a late goalkeeping error by Bart Verbruggen. David Brooks pulled one back in stoppage time, but Brighton held on, surviving a dramatic finale as Semenyo struck the crossbar with the game's final kick.
Joao Pedro marked his first start since August with a goal just four minutes into the match, capitalizing on a rebound after Danny Welbeck and Georginio Rutter combined to force a save from Kepa Arrizabalaga. Despite this early setback, Bournemouth dominated the opening half, with Antoine Semenyo narrowly missing the goal, and Justin Kluivert and Evanilson both forcing smart saves from Bart Verbruggen. The Cherries thought they had equalized just before halftime when Kluivert squared a pass to Evanilson, but Kluivert was ruled offside from Semenyo’s through ball, preventing the goal.

SEMENYO HITS THE CROSSBAR! Bournemouth win a late corner on the left, with Cook delivering a well-placed ball into the box. It sparks a scramble as the ball pings around, and Semenyo, reacting quickest, lines up a volley from inside the box. Unfortunately for Bournemouth, his effort crashes against the top of the crossbar, denying them a dramatic late equalizer.

Van Hecke is shown a yellow card for a reckless challenge on Unal, bringing a halt to Bournemouth's counter-attack. Cook, visibly frustrated by the challenge, protests too vehemently and is also booked for his actions.

Ouattara’s cross from the left is blocked, but Bournemouth maintain possession. Tavernier then steps up to deliver a well-placed cross into the box, but Verbruggen is quick to react, catching it cleanly to relieve the pressure on Brighton’s defense. The Seagulls' goalkeeper remains composed under the increasing pressure from Bournemouth.

THERE'S STILL HOPE FOR THE CHERRIES! Unal controls a pass expertly in the box before shifting it to Brooks, who is waiting inside the right of the area. With a powerful strike, Brooks smashes the ball into the top left corner, giving Bournemouth a glimmer of hope. The goal energizes the Cherries, and they now have renewed belief in their pursuit of an equalizer.
