Thanks for joining me here on Tribe as Fulham severely dented Chelsea’s title challenge with a thrilling comeback win at Stamford Bridge this Boxing Day afternoon: I hope you’ve enjoyed our coverage: I’ve been Rory Morrow, and I look forward to seeing you again soon for another live text commentary!
Up Next - The league games continue to come thick and fast. Chelsea close out 2024 away at Ipswich Town on Monday night as they travel to Portman Road. Fulham are back in action the day before, hosting Bournemouth at Craven Cottage.
What a result for Fulham, who continue to impress as their unbeaten December goes on! Having been the equal of Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool in recent weeks, Fulham claim a statement win this afternoon. They could count themselves unlucky to be behind to a moment of magic from Palmer. Yet, they stayed in the game (Leno made a couple of wonderful saves) and Marco Silva rolled the dice with his changes: Boy, did they work a treat! Two of his substitutes netted: both were supremely well-created and executed goals with the defence, bolstered by Andersen's return, magnificent throughout: Fulham won't want December to end at the rate they're going!
For all the money that has been spent, it speaks volumes that today, Enzo Maresca felt he was only able to turn to his bench options once. When, in stark contrast, Marco Silva made proactive substitutions that turned the game around for Fulham. Chelsea hadn't been at their best but nor had Fulham: Indeed, Chelsea had managed the game quite maturely until they conceded the leveller. Then, they committed too many men forwards and were caught light at the back, punished by Muniz's predatory finish. Having also dropped points away at Everton before today, The Blues' title bid takes a big dent this afternoon as they now trail Liverpool by four points, having played two games more.
THE SUBSTITUTES WIN IT FOR FULHAM - A huge dagger has been struck to Chelsea's title challenge as they lose at home on Boxing Day, with Fulham coming from behind to take all three points at Stamford Bridge! This match was such a treat: played at an end-to-end tempo, only Palmer's excellent first-half strike had separated the sides for most of the match. Then, with eight minutes remaining, one of Fulham's substitutes, Wilson, levelled with a close-range header. In injury time, it got even better for Fulham as Muniz kept calm to sweep in a late winner and leave Stamford Bridge shellshocked. What a win for Marco Silva's men: what a costly loss for Chelsea.

SAVE - Leno keeps Fulham's lead intact! Palmer crosses from the right, Diop's header only goes as far as Nkunku, at the back post. His acrobatic scissor kick is matched by Leno's flying stop! Andersen heads away the resulting corner, from the left, as he rises high to meet Palmer's delivery, that could be that.

MUNIZ TUCKS HOME IN INJURY TIME AS FULHAM STUN STAMFORD BRIDGE - Wow, the late drama! Chelsea carelessly clear their lines as Sanchez' kick up-field is latched onto by Diop, beating Cucurella to the ball. Diop releases Wilson down the right who, in turn, sets Lukic away ahead of him. With Chelsea light at the back, Lukic scampers into the penalty area and brilliantly crosses the ball into the run of Muniz. Eight yards out, he is coolness personified as he cuts inside of Gusto and tucks the ball into the bottom-right-hand-corner from 12 yards out!

Cairney, crossing halfway purposefully, releases the rampaging Robinson down the left wing. Robinson powers behind both Neto and Gusto, crossing into the box. The ball's slightly ahead of Wilson, enabling Caicedo to get back and reach it for Chelsea, on the edge of his own penalty area, centrally.
