Few of an Everton persuasion will forget tonight! The final Merseyside derby at Goodison has well and truly delivered, so let's have a recap. Level at half-time, Liverpool thought they were on their way to all three points when Mo Salah - who else - steered the ball home from close range to make it 2-1. But in the most dramatic of finales with 98 minutes on the clock, central defender James Tarkowski fired a thunderous effort beyond Alisson, who could do little to stop it from finding the roof of the net. An agonising VAR check for offside ensued, but the goal was eventually given! It was nothing less than the Toffees deserved, on the overall balance of play, but a sickener for Liverpool nonetheless. They miss the chance to go nine points clear at the top, while Everton put further breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone. An occasion that will live long in the memory, you can be sure of that. For one final time, Goodison has delivered on derby day!

Tempers have well and truly spilled over after the full-time whistle, with Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucoure in the thick of it after the Liverpool man took exception to his opponent celebrating in front of the away fans! An almighty melee ensues - players, coaching staff and security guards all embroiled in a big huddle of commotion. Doucoure has been shown a second yellow card, Curtis Jones too. It seems a red card might've been brandished in the direction of Liverpool boss Arne Slot as well. It's allowed to bounce near the penalty spot and then diverted by the head of Ireogbunam into the path of James Tarkowski. With the finish of a seasoned centre forward, he hits a sublime, rising volley beyond Alisson at his near post. That's his first goal of the season, and what a time to get it! Bedlam in the final seconds! There's a lengthy VAR check for offside and a potential foul in the build-up, but the goal... is given!
