West Ham's defence holds and they stay unbeaten in 4 games, slowly building a foundation they hope they can build on for the rest of the season. Southampton will feel a bit hard-done by but as I mentioned earlier, this is the story of their season: really nice possession, good build-up play, but really lacking when it comes to goal scoring. They had numerous half-chances, without creating anything you'd describe as 'clear cut'. West Ham on the other hand only had a couple of decent chances, but they took the all important one. The Hammers leapfrog Manchester United into 13th place, while Southampton stay rock bottom in 20th.

Onuachu has been unplayable at times today but his header from 16 yards is wide of Areola's right-side post, after a great cross from Southampton's right by Dibling.
90+6'
Southampton have a throw-in level with the West Ham box. Last chance?

CHANCE! Was that the opportunity for Southampton?!? Good pressure from Southampton's press and Dibling wins the ball 35 yards away from goal. He runs at Coufal, before cutting in on his left, but his shot his wild and off target.

West Ham are creaking but just about hold firm. More great build-up play by Onuachu, and Southampton play a couple of balls into the box, but it's well cleared. A West Ham player eventually stays down 'with cramp'. Wink wink, nudge nudge.
90+3'
Southampton building pressure around the West Ham box, but it's lost and West Ham try and clear their lines.

Chance for Southampton! A lovely cross from the left finds Onuachu whose leap is brilliant but his header less so, as it sails just wide of Areola's right-hand post.
