It is a result that opens up the title race debate, giving Arsenal the opportunity to close the gap to 5 points should they win at the weekend. It is a useful point for Villa given the opposition, but they will be frustrated they couldn't turn their late dominance into a winning goal that would push them back close to the Champions League spots.
NOTHING SEPERATES THE TWO SIDES! A fantastic, flowing football match finishes in a draw here at Villa Park. Both sides have had a plethora of chances to win it, but no-one could quite find the right side of the woodwork and emerge the hero. Liverpool were on top in the beginning of the second half as they pushed forward for an equaliser and eventually Alexander Arnold found the bottom corner courtesy of a helpful deflection. They then were denied by Martinez, the post or some poor finishing from Nunez before Villa came to life at the end of the match. For the last 15 minutes the home side tried and tried to find a winner, to no avail. Malen had a big impact off the bench, whilst Rogers and Tielemans always looked dangerous in midfield when they had opportunities to turn and run with the ball.

JUST WIDE! There is a battle in midfield that Malen wins, before he turns and runs at the Liverpool defence. He cuts a little to the outside making space to shoot before striking an effort that rolls across goal and JUST wide of the far post. All Villa in the closing moments.

SHOT! SAVE! Cash this time as he breaks down the right and closes in on the edge of the area. He lets fly with a low shot that swerves but Alisson gets himself down sharply to make the save.

CROSS! MIXER! OVER! The first cross from the corner is to the far post where Liverpool can head it clear, Villa then deliver another ball to the mixer where Mings is making a nuisance of himself. The big centre back eventually brings it down under pressure and looks for support. He dribbles, lays it off to a team mate outside the box who then slips in Rogers with space to shoot from the left. He strikes but it rises over the bar! Big chance there.

Some good play on the right for Villa as they sniff a chance to steal all 3 points here. Rogers again runs with the ball to the Liverpool byline and tries to cut back a low cross that earns his side a corner.

An average clearance for Alisson hangs high in the air towards Salah who competes for the ball. The referee blows his whistle, as the flag is up for offside with the winger drifting offside and coming back to try and receive the ball.
