That wraps things up from this one, but thanks for joining us. This is Ryan Nixon (@NewYorkNixon) signing off.
There was plenty to like from Liverpool today, with Cody Gakpo again impressing as he continues to enjoy a rich vein of form. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson were strong in the wide areas, while Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch bossed midfield. They didn't always look at their most fluent up front, but it didn't stop Mo Salah from yet again netting as he extended his lead at the top of the Golden Boot standings. For Leicester, Jakub Stolarczyk can be happy with his Premier League debut, James Justin and Stephy Mavididi toiled hard, and Jordan Ayew took his goal opportunity well.
The win takes Liverpool seven points clear of second placed Chelsea, while still having a game in hand, to be played in February against Merseyside rivals Everton. They're into a hugely congested run of fixtures over the next month and a half, but are well placed to challenge for multiple trophies, and the buffer in the league will only help as they manage their squad through the fixtures. For Leicester, they finish the week in the bottom three, and will be desperate to start picking up some points after conceding 10 goals in their last 3 games.
Liverpool get the result they were after to extend their lead at the top, although it wasn't always plain sailing after Leicester's early goal against the run of play. It took until first half stoppage time for them to pull back that opener, but Cody Gakpo did bring them level, and in the second half it was one way traffic. Leicester didn't fire a shot in the second half, and it didn't take long for Curtis Jones to put the Reds in front, before Mo Salah iced things late on. Liverpool could easily have had plenty more, hitting the woodwork twice through Salah and Andy Robertson, having a second Cody Gakpo goal chalked off, and creating plenty of other chances as they laid siege to the Leicester end.
90+9'
Corner worked short, and in the end the Tsimikas delivery is overhit. Salah dinks one back across goal, but claimed by the keeper.
90+9'
Tsimikas teases the cross to the back post, which Jota gets up to head back across goal. He can't quite put it on the head of van Dijk though, and Leicester clear. Liverpool come again though, and Gakpo wins a corner.
90+8'
Liverpool win a free kick in a dangerous spot, as Gakpo is dragged back by an arm by Daka. Dangerous spot just outside the area.
90+6'
Leicester have shown very little intent in this second half, and they again stand off as Liverpool knock the ball about. In the end van Dijk pings one forward, but it's too long and goes for a goal kick.
90+5'
A cameo at the back for Okoli, replacing Coady.
