That's it for this weekend of Premier League action. Thank you for tuning in. Until next time, this is Sanil Karan signing off.
Liverpool's strong start to the season continues. In contrast, Brentford were unable to build on their solid win against Crystal Palace last weekend. The Bees will now shift their focus to a midweek EFL Cup clash with Colchester, while Liverpool's next fixture is an exciting trip to Old Trafford next weekend.
The hosts continued their dominance after the break, nearly doubling their lead when Andrew Robertson headed a misfired bicycle kick from Jota, which Flekken managed to parry away. At the other end, a chance for Nathan Collins demanded a quick reflex save from Alisson, but Liverpool quickly regained control and intensified their attack. Collins thwarted what seemed like a certain goal by blocking Jota’s close-range shot, and Mohamed Salah came close to finishing off a brilliant passing sequence. After holding off Liverpool for a long time, Brentford’s defense finally succumbed when Salah stayed onside and expertly placed a shot beyond the advancing Flekken to secure Liverpool’s second goal.
Arne Slot achieved a milestone as the first Liverpool manager since Graeme Souness in 1991 to win his first league match, and his debut at Anfield could hardly have gone better. Just thirteen minutes into the game, Brentford's decision to commit too many players forward left them vulnerable, allowing Diogo Jota to set up Luis DĂaz, who scored past Mark Flekken. Although Liverpool did not extend their lead in the first half, their sharp interplay was evident, and Brentford only managed to test Alisson with a routine save two minutes before the break.

Onyeka attempts to chip a pass for Carvalho, who is positioned on the left side of the box. Carvalho is quickly surrounded by defenders and forced wide, making it difficult for him to create a clear shot. Schade then miscontrols the ball with a loose touch, allowing it to drift out of play.

Mac Allister brings down Damsgaard in midfield to halt the play and this gives Slot the chance to bring on Endo. He replaces Gravenberch in midfield.
