That wraps things up here on Tribe, thanks for joining us. We've got all the action from the Premier League on the way over the next two days, including the massive clash between Liverpool and Man City. See you next time.
Brighton move up to 2nd on 23 points ahead of the remaining weekend games. Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal could all jump above them with positive results. They travel away to Fulham on Thursday night before visiting Leicester next Sunday. Southampton remain bottom on 5 points but close the gap to 17th to four points for now. They are back at home on Wednesday against Chelsea before travelling to Aston Villa next Saturday.
Russell Martin will be absolutely delighted at the fight and desire his side demonstrated in the second half here. They showed real quality going forward and could arguably have come away with all three points. Tyler Dibling was a real stand-out again with his willingness to take players on and drive Southampton forward on the counter. Flynn Downes took the equaliser well but rode his luck somewhat after committing a number of fouls while on a yellow card. This is only the third positive result Southampton have achieved in 13 games back in the top flight. It's something they will need to replicate over the coming weeks as they try and lift themselves off the bottom of the table.
Brighton were not at their fluid attacking best tonight, as they struggled to break down an organised Southampton defence. Players like Joao Pedro and Danny Welbeck have been hugely impressive so far this season but had very little impact tonight. The hosts had plenty of chances but very few efforts were on target. Kaoru Mitoma looked the most likely source of creativity down the left, while Simon Adingra was lively off the bench but without an end product. A point here is still better than it could have been, after an impressive second half performance by Southampton.
It ends level on the South Coast as Southampton fight back in the second half to claim a huge point at Brighton. It could have been even better after Cameron Archer turned home Ryan Fraser's cross, but VAR ruled it out as Adam Armstrong was deemed to be interfering with play. Brighton struggled to break Southampton down and will no doubt be frustrated at their failure to beat a side in the lower reaches at home again.

WIDE! Yankuba Minteh's delivery is glanced well wide by Jan Paul van Hecke from 12 yards out. That's the final moment of the game.

Tyler Dibling is reckless running across Kaoru Mitoma and bringing him down 25 yards from goal on the Brighton left. He picks up a late booking which will lead to a suspension for Southampton's next game. Right now though they have one more set piece to defend.

OFFSIDE! Brighton shout for a late penalty as Yasin Ayari goes down in the area from a late cross off the left flank by Pervis Estupinan. On this occasion though Asari is well offside.
