That's a wrap for this match, but don't go anywhere as Aston Villa v. West Ham kicks off shortly! Thanks for joining me throughout this one, and until next time, this is Sanil Karan signing off. Catch you soon!
With this crucial win, Leicester climb out of the relegation zone, breathing a little easier as they prepare to face Everton next in what will be another vital fixture for their survival. Meanwhile, Spurs are stuck in 15th, just eight points above the relegation spots, and face mounting pressure ahead of their upcoming matches. First, they host Elfsborg in their final Europa League group-stage match, before traveling to Brentford in a game that could determine whether they continue their mid-table struggle or begin to slip closer to the danger zone. Both teams now face important games in the coming weeks, with Leicester seeking to build on their newfound form and Spurs looking to recover from their recent slump.
After taking the lead, Leicester maintained their shape, expertly slowing the game down and frustrating Spurs at every turn. While Leicester’s defensive unit, including Stolarczyk, stood strong, Spurs looked disjointed and unable to find any rhythm, with their attacking play lacking precision and creativity. Even with attacking changes late on, Tottenham couldn’t find the spark they needed, and Leicester continued to manage the game comfortably, seeing out the final stages with relative ease.
Ruud van Nistelrooy's words at the break clearly sparked a response as Jamie Vardy quickly put Leicester level with a well-taken goal from Bobby De Cordova-Reid's delivery within a minute of the restart. Spurs, on the other hand, emerged for the second half still mentally in the dressing room, and their self-destructive play allowed Leicester to capitalize on another midfield mistake, with Bilal El Khannouss punishing them by calmly placing a shot into the bottom right corner. Despite the Foxes' leaky defense, they survived a scare when a deflected Porro free-kick hit the crossbar, but Spurs never really looked threatening after that. Leicester expertly managed the game, taking the sting out of it and holding firm to secure a massive three points, ending their seven-match losing streak and lifting them out of the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Spurs' frustrating performance leaves Ange Postecoglou with more stress following yet another damaging defeat.
Leicester's struggles were evident early on as they began on the back foot, with goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk called into action early on. He made key saves, denying Pedro Porro's powerful drive and producing a brilliant stop to deny Son Heung-min's effort. However, Stolarczyk was fortunate when a wayward Son cross hit the crossbar, keeping Leicester level. Despite their defensive efforts, a goal felt imminent, and it came when Porro delivered a perfect cross for Richarlison to head home, giving Spurs the lead. Leicester had failed to provide any significant attacking threat in the first half and Spurs were rightly ahead.
90+8'
Porro delivers a corner from the right, swinging it into the box, but Vestergaard rises to head it clear. The ball falls to Bentancur just outside the box, and he lines up a shot, but Daka is quick to react, getting in the way and blocking the effort.
90+7'
CLOSE! Spurs work the ball over to Porro on the right, who then picks out Kulusevski inside the box. Kulusevski tries to control it, but the ball slips away from him and out off Faes, resulting in a Spurs corner.
90+5'
SAVE! Kulusevski cuts inside off the right and picks out a superb pass into the box, finding Moore unmarked. With a clear sight at goal, Moore shoots but is unable to get the better of Stolarczyk, who makes a comfortable save. The ball is quickly cleared by Vestergaard, ensuring Leicester escape without conceding. But Moore was offside anyways.
90+4'
Woyo Coulibaly makes his debut for Leicester City, coming on to replace Justin, who has been struggling in recent minutes. The change adds fresh legs to the Leicester defense as they look to close out the game. Tottenham, meanwhile, make a late attacking change, with Gray making way for academy striker Will Lankshear, as they push for a last-minute equalizer.
