Thanks for joining me here on Tribe as Christian Norgaard’s injury-time header earned Brentford a draw against Manchester City in a thrilling Premier League game at the Gtech Community Stadium this evening: I hope you’ve enjoyed our coverage: I’ve been Rory Morrow, and I look forward to seeing you again soon for another live text commentary!
Up Next - Brentford have another tough home test at the weekend when league leaders, Liverpool, visit on Saturday afternoon. City have a day more’s rest before they’re back in action, at Portman Road, as they face relegation-fighting, Ipswich Town in the late afternoon game on Sunday.
The same defensive weaknesses keep on hurting Man City. Whilst they have definitely rediscovered their mojo in attack, Foden back to his best here and Savinho sparkling on the left wing, they were also profligate at times and ended up paying the price when they couldn't hold on, at the end. The lack of game-management, when City were ahead, was staggering. Although they came close to getting a third goal, Ake also had to bail them out with two off-the-line clearances in the second half. Having been on course for a third successive league win, this will most definitely go down as two points squandered in a season that continues to stall and stutter for The Champions.
Even when the game was goal-less, Brentford were giving as good as they got (and more) against City, with both teams creating a lot of chances. Ortega denied Wissa in the first half and Ake, twice, saved City with off-the-line clearances. Brentford really made them look vulnerable, constantly attacking and getting their rewards, at the last. Damsgaard, in midfield, pulled the strings superbly whilst Mbuemo made things tick with an electric display. It's a really hard-earned point for The Bees who, having run City close in recent league meetings, do tonight take a share of the spoils against them. And in some style!
BRENTFORD COME BACK FROM TWO DOWN IN A THRILLER - What a game at the Gtech Community Stadium as Brentford, who were two goals down with 12 minutes remaining, deservedly take a late point against Manchester City! After a first half which featured a lot of chances but no goals, Foden broke the deadlock midway through the second half. He then doubled City's lead before Wissa pulled one back for Brentford. City really went for a third, then, going close through De Bruyne and Haaland. But The Bees kept pushing themselves and earned a point in injury time when Norgaard towered to head home Lewis-Potter's sumptuous, curling cross. What a match of Premier League football: Whilst Brentford were excellent, that is another big blow to City's ever-fading hopes of retaining the title.

OFF THE LINE - Brentford nearly grab a winner! Schade speeds away down the left side of the box and unselfishly pulls it back to Mbuemo. His effort, six yards out, is headed away off the line, heroically by Ake!

NORGAARD HEADS HOME TO CLAW BRENTFORD BACK LEVEL - Wow, the Gtech Community Stadium erupts in celebration! City, who've had chances to get a third, are pegged back! Damsgaard whips a pass wide right, Gvardiol's clearing header only finds Lewis-Potter on the right-edge of the box. Lewis-Potter cuts in, delivers brilliantly and Norgaard, getting the better of Akanji near the penalty spot, crashes a super header past Ortega into the top-right corner!
