Wolves then face a daunting trip next Wednesday to a Newcastle side who've also won five straight league games. Forest face a title battle with Liverpool at the City Ground next Tuesday.
Nottingham Forest continue to scale unprecedented heights this season. Another away win and a ninth clean sheet means they have already earned 40 points from their first 20 league games. They were full value for the three points tonight, taking an early lead through a superb Morgan Gibbs-White then withstanding plenty of pressure from Wolves in the first half. Chris Wood's goal just before the break felt pivotal, before Taiwo Awoniyi's breakaway goal off the bench in stoppage time gave the result a more comprehensive feel. From front to back Forest battled hard and showed the defensive resilience and attacking quality that's brought them to this position. Six consecutive wins have been achieved in the top-flight for the first time in a single season since 1966/67.
Vitor Pereira experiences defeat for the first time since taking charge at Wolves tonight. It could have been different had they converted at least one of the several fine chances they created in the first half, but they missed the creativity of the suspended Matheus Cunha here. Jorgen Strand Larsen was wasteful and the hosts struggled to impose themselves in the second half. Perhaps wary that conceding a third on the counter would leave them with too much to do, they didn't go for it as much as they could have. This result leaves them precariously placed in 17th, above Ipswich and the relegation zone only by virtue of goal difference.
FOREST GO LEVEL WITH ARSENAL IN 2ND AFTER A SIXTH CONSECUTIVE LEAGUE WIN! They move onto 40 points and keep a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the process. Wolves created plenty of chances at a goal down in the first half but struggled to impose themselves after the break. They were beaten by the better side here. Forest march on!

Nikola Milenkovic hammers a long ball clear for Forest and Taiwo Awoniyi does well to get across and head it back to Callum Hudson-Odoi. He races forward down the left on the counter and lays a lovely through ball across to James Ward-Prowse on the right side of the penalty area. Jose Sa races out to narrow the angle so Ward-Prowse unselfishly squares it for Awoniyi to steer home from 10 yards.
