The Central Coast Mariners have picked up a much-needed three points to cut the Wanderers resurgence short. Make sure you join us again on Tribe tomorrow for a triple header of A-League Men's action. It's been a pleasure bringing you all the action from this one at CommBank Stadium. For now, Harrison Ryburn signing out.
It's another home match for the Wanderers next, and they'll get a much-needed break before hosting Auckland FC next Sunday evening. Meanwhile, the away trips continue for the Mariners with a journey across the ditch to face the Wellington Phoenix next Saturday.
Huge for the Mariners on other hand, particuarly after conceding four in a drubbing at the hands of Sydney FC across-town at Allianz Stadium last weekend. It marks just their fourth victory of the season, and their second win in three on the road after defeating the Roar at Suncorp a couple of weeks ago. Mark Jackson's side showed a lot more fight then they have in recent times tonight, putting their bodies on the line throughout, particuarly late on to survive the late Wanderers siege. Brian Kaltak and Trent Sainsbury looked a lot more composed together, whilst they were frequently able to ask questions on the counter, exposing the lack of numbers at the back from their opponents on three occasions.
A rather toothless display from the Wanderers tonight, who appeared to struggling with fatigue and jet lag after making the long flight home from Perth just a few days ago. They found themselves on the front foot for long periods, but were blunted by a compact and disciplined Mariners defence from all angles. On three seperate occasions they saw the ball cleared away off the line by some desparate defending, and failed to take advantage of their chances. It's a bit of a setback after the win away in Perth, and they lose the chance to jump up into the top six for the time being.
Fulltime at CommBank Stadium and the Central Coast Mariners have rallied to secure victory away from home against the Western Sydney Wanderers. Playing with their backs against the walls for large periods of the contest, Ryan Edmondson marked his return from injury to double the Mariners lead with twenty minutes to play. The comeback looked on when James Temelkovski came off the bench to score his first A-League goal five minutes from the end of regular time, but the Wanderers saw two big chances scrambled away off the line by Harrison Steele and Brian Kaltak. Throwing everything at it, the hosts were caught out on the break, as Mikael Doka secured the three points for the Mariners with a third goal late in injury-time. It's a huge three points for the two-time defending champions, putting them back within four points of the top six for the meantime, whilst the Wanderers have lost four of their seven home matches this season and remain winless at CommBank to begin the new year.

GAME OVER! DOKA FINISHES IT FOR THE MARINERS! The visitors hit their opponents on the counter! The Wanderers win a corner down the left flank, and they send everyone forward but the keeper. It's cleared by the visitors though, and the ball falls for Doka to turn and surge forward in transition. He bursts into the box with just the keeper to beat, rounding Peraic-Cullen, and slotting the ball into the back of an empty net on his left foot. The Mariners go crazy in celebration, and the substitutes rush across to greet Doka with joy near the corner flag. That will seal the three points!

BIG CHANCE! Cleared off the line again! The Wanderers push forward once more, and the ball is whipped into the back post off the right. It looks like a routine collection for Peraic-Cullen, but he drops the ball, and gives it straight to Sapsford in front of goal. The substiute has an empty net to aim for, but Kaltak throws himself in the way this time, clearing off the line with a desperate sliding challenge. Somehow the Mariners remain ahead!
