It was another match of could have beens for the Brisbane Roar. They had a number of good opportunities on goal but weren't able to find the back of the net. There was plenty of frustration late from the likes of O'Shea and Jelacic. They will stay rooted to the bottom of the ladder and you would have to think that changes might not be far away at the club. A trip to Sydney FC awaits them next weekend.

It wasn't a perfect performance from City but they found a way to get the win in the second half. The likes of Ugarkovic was at his creative best in that second half, while Talbot and Behich had strong games around the flanks. Memeti and Mazzeo were excellent up front with the young striker netting a header from a corner. City, for the moment at least, head back to the top of the ladder and will take on Auckland FC across the ditch next weekend.

It was a very scrappy end to this match but it is Melbourne City coming away with full points and keeping their unbeaten streak alive. It was a dominating performance from the home side and they managed to get the go ahead goal thanks to a ripping header from Mazzeo midway through the second half.

Freke launches it long from inside his half. Kasawaya down the left edge tries to get around the byline. Fires into the defender but the ball rebounds back into him and over the byline for a goal kick which Beach is in no rush to take! The final whistle goes and City take the points!

City send the goal kick up the left edge and it drifts into touch. Brisbane look to go quickly but it is turned over and into touch as they can't control it. City toss it deep down the left and it bobbles around. Brisbane get a free kick after copping a shoulder in the back. They take it quickly.

City keep it short outside the Brisbane box before dragging it all the way back for Beach. He sends it back up the middle. City head it on and the play is loose from Brisbane who are starting to get frustrated in being unable to hold possession. They send another ball up the right edge but it has too much on it and goes over the byline.

O'Shea is put in the book this time for the dicey sliding tackle on Behich on the Melbourne left edge. He is frustrated in his chat with Casey Reibelt. City send a ball up the left edge looking for another run by Ugarkovic! Brisbane can only take it over the sideline in the corner.
