That wraps up our coverage of this A League Men's clash between Western United and Melbourne Victory. Thanks for joining me, Zak Brown on Tribe!
Three points for Melbourne Victory takes them back up to second place on the A League ladder, behind leaders Auckland FC who boast a perfect record after five games. Victory will hope to make it back-to-back wins when they host strugglers Perth Glory next up.
Western United may take positives from the fact they hung in the game throughout the first half, despite being bombarded by wave after wave of Melbourne Victory attack. However, John Aloisi will be looking for his side to be more creative in the attacking third when they host Macarthur FC next up, after failing to test Victory goalkeeper Jack Duncan enough throughout the game.
The full-time whistle goes at AAMI Park and it's a deserved win for Melbourne Victory! The away side will have been disappointed to enter the half-time break locked level after dominating the opening period. But they quickly re-took the lead within three minutes of second half action, thanks to Nikos Vergos's strike that squeezed past Matt Sutton at his near post. Victory's lead was extended by Victory talisman Bruno Fornaroli, who had only just entered the action. He pounced on Kane Vidmar's mistake to beat Sutton with a fine finish into the bottom right corner. Western United huffed and puffed, but never looked likely to find their way back into the game. Victory cruised to a two goal win in the end and they bounce back immediately after suffering their first defeat of the campaign last weekend.

CLOSE! A loose ball falls to the feet of Michael Ruhs 25 yards out from goal in a central position. Acting on instinct, Ruhs attempts to curl the ball beyond Jack Duncan and inside the right post. However, Duncan remains alert and tips the ball around the post, which gives Western United a late corner.
90+1'
Michael Ruhs attempts to squeeze the ball past Brendan Hamill deep inside the Melbourne Victory penalty area, but Jason Geria recovers to support his team-mate Hamill, before drawing a foul from Ruhs to relieve the defensive pressure on Melbourne Victory.

A disappointing cross by Abel Walatee from Western United's right wing gives Jack Duncan the easiest of catches to make. Duncan launches the ball down the opposite end of the field, which reaches opposing goalkeeper Matt Sutton.

Tomoki Imai clatters into Bruno Fornaroli from behind and concedes a free kick close to halfway, which gives Melbourne Victory the opportunity to fully recover before restarting play.
