That wraps things up from this one, but thanks for joining us on Tribe. This is Ryan Nixon (@NewYorkNixon) signing off.
It's a point that Auckland will take, as they keep adding to their lead at the top of the table. Newcastle though, may regret not being able to turn this game into three points, as their hopes of making the finals start to dwindle.
Louis Verstraete's dismissal looked like a potential catalyst for Newcastle to go on and win the game in the final twenty minutes, but they struggled to create anything going forward. Auckland continued to be the side who created the better chances, but eventually it petered out to the draw.
That penalty was a real turning point though, as Alex Paulsen denied Konstandinos Grozos, and Auckland suddenly flicked a switch. From that point on, they were the side in control, eventually earning an equaliser through Jesse Randall's header, and grabbing control in the middle of the park. That bled into the second half, with Marlee Francois injected into the game and making a difference, and the visitors looking most likely to go on and win.
So points shared, in a game that had plenty of talking points. Early on, it was all Newcastle, and they looked like they might run rampant as Auckland couldn't get themselves into any sort of groove. The pace of the Jets' front men, and their ability to find spaces in the wide areas, caused havoc early, eventually leading to the opening goal. That was a wonder goal from Eli Adams, and it wasn't long after that they had a spot kick and the chance to double their lead.

CLOSE! Grozos takes, but ends up whistling his effort just over the bar!
90+5'
Attacking free kick! Toomey clips Vidic as he turns just outside the area, and the Jets have one last chance to try snatch this.
90+3'
May nicks possession high up the park, and it results in Francois bursting down the left. Susnjar does well though, and forces a Jets throw.
90+2'
The Jets win the ball back and come forward down the left, with Wilmering then sending in a cross towards the back post. Vidic is a rather lone figure though, and it eludes him before being watched out for a goal kick.
