That wraps up this match, but stay tuned to Tribe as Group F reaches its conclusion in less than an hour. This is Sanil Karan signing off for now.
Slovakia might feel a tinge of disappointment for not securing a win despite taking the lead in their fifth consecutive match, but their primary objective of advancing to the knockout stage has been achieved. Romania, on the other hand, will be jubilant as they progress from the group stage at the Euros for the first time since 2000.
As the rain poured down in Frankfurt, Romania came close to completing their comeback when Marin was thwarted in his attempt for a second goal by a fine save from Dubravka, followed by Denis Dragus narrowly curling his effort wide. However, Slovakia responded with a promising double opportunity of their own, as David Strelec forced Nita into a foot save before Haraslin cut inside and fired just wide.
Despite the knowledge that a draw would secure qualification for both teams, Slovakia and Romania didn't play cautiously in the first half. Slovakia posed early threats from set-pieces, with Juraj Kucka missing a clear chance with a free header saved comfortably by Florin Nita. Lukas Haraslin then delivered a dangerous free-kick that evaded everyone, followed by Kucka's cross setting up the opening goal. Ondrej Duda connected with a superb pass to head home, becoming the first Slovak to score in two separate Euros. Romania quickly equalized with Razvan Marin converting a penalty awarded after VAR confirmed David Hancko's foul on Ianis Hagi inside the box. Marin's precise finish leveled the score at halftime.
