That's it for this match. Thanks for joining in. Stay with Tribe as Spain v. Denmark kicks off in just over half an hour. Until next time, this is Sanil Karan signing off.
Croatia surged into the second half with intensity, with both goalscorer Matanovic and Luka Modric denied by a resilient Craig Gordon. Modric then came close, sending a shot just inches wide as the hosts pressed for a goal to regain their lead. That goal finally came in the 70th minute when Kramaric capitalized on a rebound from Gordon, heading home after the goalkeeper had deflected Borna Sosa’s powerful shot. Unfortunately for Scotland, Che Adams had a goal disallowed for offside just before the final whistle, leaving Croatia in pursuit of group leaders Portugal, while Scotland remain at the bottom of the standings, needing a victory over Portugal at Hampden Park to keep their quarter-final hopes alive.
Scotland started strongly in the Croatian capital, with Andy Robertson sending a bold long-range shot wide just seven minutes in. The visitors kept the pressure on the 2022/23 UNL finalists, with Billy Gilmour's attempt forcing Dominik Livakovic into his first save. Croatia responded with Kramaric finally registering their first shot on target shortly after the half-hour mark, but Craig Gordon made a smart save to deny him. Scotland broke the deadlock in the 33rd minute, with Ryan Christie capitalizing on a defensive mistake from Luka Sucic to score from a difficult angle, only for Igor Matanovic to equalize just three minutes later, skillfully finishing off Ivan Perisic’s cross.
DRAMA AT THE END BUT CROATIA DO TAKE ALL THE POINTS!

SCOTLAND ARE DENIED THE EQUALIZER! Robertson delivers a cross from the left, which is kept alive by McLean, creating a chance for Scotland. Che Adams seizes the opportunity to fire a shot from the left side of the box as it deflects off Jakic, rolling past Livakovic and into the bottom right corner. However, the excitement is tempered as VAR reviews the play, specifically focusing on whether Adams was offside at the moment the shot was taken.... and it is chalked off! Che Adams WAS offside!

Baturina seizes the opportunity to surge forward on the right flank, finding himself with ample space to maneuver. However, Gilmour, aware of the potential threat, steps in to halt Baturina's advance, resulting in a foul. The referee has no hesitation in issuing a yellow card to Gilmour for the challenge.
