Arsenal have come away with an unconvincing victory over Shakhtar Donetsk to preserve their unbeaten record in the Champions League. Make sure you join us again on Tribe tomorrow for more live coverage from the UCL. It's been a pleasure bringing you all the action from the Emirates Stadium tonight. For now, Harrison Ryburn signing out.
Next up for Arsenal is a huge clash with Liverpool back here at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon. Today's performance won't leave them with a whole lot of confidence heading into that one, and they'll have to be much improved against the Premier League leaders. Meanwhile, Shakhtar are back in action in Ukraine against Dynamo Kiev, who also lead the domestic league standings.
A valiant effort from Shakhtar, who came to London and ensured Arsenal didn't have it all their own way. They picked up a 1-1 draw with Manchester City in their previous clash on English soil, and almost repeated those heroics here, defending stoutly, and keeping the pressure on with the switch of their press. The Ukrainians were firmly on the back foot early, but found a footing as the match progressed, showing discipline and organisation at the back, and holding onto possession when thet got a foot to the ball. The lack of a consistent attacking outlet proved their demise though, and despite creating a couple of good chances late on, they couldn't put the ball in the back of the net for the equaliser. The result leaves Shakhtar with just one point from a possible nine in the UCL, and they have a lot of catching up to do if they want to remain in the hunt for the knockout play-offs.
Not the convincing response that Arsenal fans would've wanted after their defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend. They dictated large stages, particuarly in the first half, but fell away slightly as the contest progressed, and were almost made to pay late on. After dominating over 65% of the possession in the opening period, it was Shakhtar that saw more of the ball in the second, and Arteta's side made a number of uncharacterstic errors. Trossard had the chance to double their lead from the penalty spot with fifteen to play, but his attempt was poor, making for a very nervy finish. Martinelli was probably Arsenal's best with a number of good deliveries off the left, and the Gunners looked good when they got the ball wide, despite not adding a second. Nevertheless they've picked up seven points from their first three UCL fixtures, and three straight clean sheets in the competition since 2007.
Fulltime at the Emirates and Arsenal have held on for a hard-fought victory over Shakhtar Donetsk. It was an own goal that proved the only seperation between the two sides, as the ball bounced off the back of Riznyk and into the back of his own net on the half hour mark. The keeper made amends with a penalty save against Trossard in the second half, but despite pushing hard, the Ukrainian champions couldn't find an equaliser. The Gunners make it three games unbeaten in the Champions League as a result, whilst Shakhtar remain winless with just one point from their first three.
90+6'
Pedrinho cleans out Havertz with a very late slide tackle deep inside his own half, and the fullback picks up a yellow card.

Pedrinho
90+5'
CHANCE! Space opens up for Kryskiv down the right flank this time, and the midfielder reaches the byline before lifting a delivery into the near post. Claudino is left unmarked, but he can't direct his effort goalwards from straight in front, and Raya leaps up above everyone in the box to collect. That was the moment for the equaliser.
90+4'
Matvienko pushes back up inside the attacking half as Shakhtar continue to press. It comes wide for Kevin down the left, who lifts a delivery towards the edge of the box for Pedrinho again. Merino gets in front to head away, before Sudakov's delivery into the penalty spot is cleared off the right by Gabriel.
