Thanks for joining me here on Tribe as Graham Potter’s first away win as West Ham United manager comes at The Emirates Stadium to plunge a huge dagger through Arsenal’s fading title hopes: I hope you’ve enjoyed our coverage: I’ve been Rory Morrow, and I look forward to seeing you again soon for another live text commentary!
Up Next - Midweek Premier League action for both as Arsenal are away at third-placed, Nottingham Forest, at the City Ground on Wednesday night. West Ham return to the London Stadium the following evening when they entertain relegation-fighting, Leicester City.
By contrast, that is a huge victory for West Ham United and their first, away from home, under Graham Potter. It was a masterclass in exploiting Arsenal's weakness to the counterattack and in managing a slender lead. Bowen and Kudus worked their socks off all game whilst wing-backs, Wan-Bissaka and Scarles, didn't give Trossard and Nwaneri much room all match. The defence was well marshalled and there was a control in midfield, perhaps helped by Ward-Prowse's experience, that meant West Ham, rather comfortably, got over the line. Indeed, they could have scored more on the counter but defended well enough to ensure that Bowen's one earned them all three points.
An awful outcome for Arsenal, then, today. They really lost their composure upon going behind and, with West Ham having threatened on the counterattack all day long, Arsenal simply didn't learn their lessons with Bowen's goal and Lewis-Skelly's red card both resulting from quick, West Ham breaks. A win would have put them within five points of league leaders, Liverpool but Arsenal cede yet more ground and deservedly so: They were too dependent on creative inspiration from Odegaard and Nwaneri, both of whom were well shackled, whilst poor old Merino didn't get a sniff up front. It's a worrying collapse from Arsenal as their disciplinary problems in the Premier League this season continue to prove costly with Mikel Arteta unable to find a solution in the closing stages.
ARSENAL'S FADING TITLE HOPES TAKES ANOTHER DENT - For the second successive season, West Ham United win at The Emirates to inflict a huge blow to Arsenal's hopes of winning the Premier League title! A strong Arsenal start faded terribly as West Ham countered brilliantly, creating the better chances before Bowen put them ahead before half-time. Struggling for inspiration, Arsenal's task was made a lot harder when substitute, Lewis-Skelly saw red for the denial of a clear goal-scoring opportunity when he fouled Kudus. Despite a late, desperate push to level it up, Arsenal were unable to find a way through and squander more points they really couldn't afford to drop in the title race.

Sterling's delivery, from the right, is poor and well swept away by Soler, at the front post as West Ham defend robustly, yet again. Ward-Prowse chases after the loose ball, hounding down Raya who has to rush back but is fouled by Ward-Prowse on the left side of halfway, who takes a late booking.

90+8'
Inside his own half, on the left, Zinchenko feeds Partey. he hauls Arsenal up the pitch with a determined run, locating Sterling on the right. He earns a late corner off of Creswell, Raya's gone up for it...
90+6'
CHANCE - Odegaard chops onto his left foot and crosses. Mavropanos heads it away. It's regathered by Gabriel, he sends it across to Odegaard, who flicks it on brilliantly to White behind him with an inventive backheel. White's strike fizzes across goal, untouched, and goes past the left post!
