Ipswich started the game in a promising manner, taking a lead through a well-taken goal from Delap, and looked like they were in control for much of the match. The home side worked hard to maintain possession and defend their lead, with Palmer coming to the rescue at key moments, including a heart-stopping incident involving a back-pass. Despite a few nervy moments, particularly during a tense spell with a Wolves free-kick from close range, Ipswich appeared to have the game in hand. However, their failure to capitalize on their attacking moments would come back to haunt them. Wolves, however, never gave up. They were patient and, despite trailing, continued to press forward with purpose. Their persistence paid off in the second half, first with Sarabia finding the equalizer with a clinical finish into the bottom right corner. Then, with the momentum shifting their way, it was Strand Larsen who delivered the decisive blow, scoring a scrappy goal off a Sarabia cross to put Wolves ahead. The visitors’ composure in the second half ultimately led them to grab all three points, much to the disappointment of the Ipswich supporters.
