That wraps things up here on Tribe, thanks for joining us. Newcastle enhance their Champions League credentials while Leicester pick up an unwanted record with their eighth straight home defeat without scoring. We've got all the action from the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first legs over the next few days, so see you tomorrow for Arsenal v Real Madrid and Bayern Munich v Inter Milan.
So Leicester remain rooted in 19th on 17 points, 15 behind Wolves in 17th with just 21 points left to play for. They travel to Brighton on Saturday. If they lose there and Wolves beat Spurs at home the following day relegation would be all but confirmed. Newcastle move into 5th on 53 points, level with Chelsea in 4th but with a slightly inferior goal difference. They now lead Man City by a point and have a game in hand on all the sides around them. They host Manchester United next on Sunday, before that big game in hand at home to Crystal Palace next Wednesday.
Eddie Howe will be delighted his side have got through this game with the minimum of fuss and without picking up any injuries or suspensions. He was able to give a number of his key men a rest in the second half with the game under control. Newcastle have bigger challenges ahead so didn't expend much energy chasing further goals after the break, with the three from the first half more than enough tonight. Jacob Murphy continued his red-hot form but Alexander Isak wasn't able to add to his impressive haul for the season. Nick Pope stayed alert at the back and made a couple of decent saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Little was expected from Leicester tonight after a long run of miserable results. Ruud van Nistelrooy's side have looked doomed to relegation for a while now and they left themselves with an uphill battle here conceding twice in the opening 11 minutes. They made it more of a game in the second half and battled gamely, but the lack of quality was evident and on a few occasions they were lucky not to be punished for some loose passes in defence. Jeremy Manga coming on for his Premier League debut at 15 years old was a rare bright spark for the hosts, while Stephy Mavididi looked a threat dribbling forward on the wing after coming on at half time. Jamie Vardy was incredibly isolated leading the line in attack though.
A comfortable night's work for Newcastle as they make it four wins in a row in all competitions on the back of a dominant first half. Leicester fail to find the back of the net again and lose at home for the 11th time this season. They set a new top-flight record as this is their 8th straight home defeat without scoring. Relegation looms for the Foxes.
90+5'
WIDE! Sandro Tonali stops Facundo Buonanotte in his tracks on halfway and Harvey Barnes bursts forward before flicking a pass out to Emil Krafth on the right. Krafth's low cross evades everyone in the Leicester penalty area. William Osula keeps it in play and lays a pass out to Sandro Tonali. He drags a low strike wide from 25 yards.
90+3'
Harvey Barnes and Callum Wilson combine on the counter to try and add a late fourth for Newcastle. Wilson's return ball finds Barnes running into the six-yard box but comes at his a little too fast. Barnes can only divert it wide of the target away to the right with his left foot.
90+2'
Facundo Buonanotte backs his ability and takes a strike on from 25 yards with his left foot from a central position. He drags his effort well wide of the right post. Goal kick to Newcastle.
90+1'
WIDE! Wout Faes rises at the near post and heads Facundo Buonanotte's corner just wide of the far left corner. That's as close as Leicester have come tonight.
