It perhaps underlines the disappointing nature of how the season has gone for both teams, although for United, they have at least stopped the rot at home by picking up their first clean sheet at Old Trafford since the start of December. A point sees United move up to 13th, while Manchester City miss the chance to climb into the top four. They remain behind Chelsea, who were held to a goalless draw earlier today.
