That's all we have for this one. Stay with Tribe for coverage of the clash between Canada and England which will decide the winner of this year's WXV1 title. This is Anthony Morgan signing off.
France did well to be within six points at halftime despite only having 33% of the ball. The pressure finally told in the second half as the Black Ferns stepped up in the forwards. Romane Menager and Emeline Gros were standouts in the pack while off the bench Rose Bernadou ranged wide with several powerful runs. Les Bleues' backs saw very little space with ball in hand but Nassira Konde did have a couple of nice touches.
The win lifts New Zealand up to fourth on the WXV1, a result they will be disappointed with overall but they will be happy to carry some momentum into a World Cup year with a strong display against France. Georgia Ponsonby was heavily involved throughout and was named the Player of the Match. Alana Bremner was a reliable lineout target and carried strongly alongside Kaipo Olsen-Baker, who was powerful off the back of the scrum. Tanya Kalounivale brought huge impact in her 25-minute stint off the bench. Katelyn Vaha'akolo was typically dangerous out wide with three tries as she finished off some brilliant play by Ruahei Demant and Sylvia Brunt in the midfield.
The Black Ferns have broken their three-match losing streak with an emphatic 39-14 win over France in Vancouver. Leading 20-14 at halftime, New Zealand buried the contest with a powerful third quarter showing where they pulled clear with tries to Katelyn Vaha'akolo, Kaipo Olsen-Baker and Tanya Kalounivale. The part the Black Ferns will be most happy with was their defence as they scrambled well to deny Rose Bernadou and Lina Queyroi in the last quarter as they kept a clean sheet intact after halftime.
