So Manchester United now look to put right their domestic form, but it won't be easy when they travel to Manchester City on Sunday. They welcome Rangers to Old Trafford next in the Europa League in about six weeks time. Viktoria Plzen host SK Dynamo on Sunday as they look to narrow the gap at the top of the Czech First League. They host Belgian side Anderlecht next up in the Europa League.
Ruben Amorim will be delighted at the response he saw from his side in the second half here after they fell behind. The changes he made off the bench had real impact and many of those players will have put their hands up to start in the Manchester Derby on Sunday. Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund in particular were major attacking threats going forward, while Amad Diallo also had an excellent game down the right. Question marks will persist over Andre Onana after he blotted his copybook with another costly error, but in the end that hasn't hurt United tonight. They leave with their first competitive away win in the Czech Republic, and a first away win in Europe since March 2023. With two games remaining they will certainly qualify, but a top eight finish has to be the target now.
When Andre Onana's howler led to Matej Vydra putting Viktoria Plzen ahead you felt this might be a famous night for the Czech side. Once again an aggressive high press paid off, but Plzen couldn't live with United once they started to make changes off the bench. Miroslav Koubek will need to lift his players after that devastating late winner, as they were just minutes away from a very valuable point. Matej Vydra was hungry in attack, scoring the opener and almost finding a second with a lovely volley from Prince Adu's cross. Plzen battled hard across the pitch, with their three defenders and two central midfielders in particular all putting in epic shifts to try and contain their expensively assembled opponents. They are still in a good position to qualify as one of the top 24 teams with two rounds remaining, with this their first defeat from six games.
Manchester United flattered to deceive for large swathes of this game, but after falling behind and making a number of changes they came roaring back in the final 30 minutes to claim a comeback win against Viktoria Plzen. Substitute Rasmus Hojlund made the difference with both goals for the visitors, the second a beautifully taken finish. This win takes them into the top eight ahead of the later kick-offs.

There's one final chance for Plzen as they win a throw high up their right. Sampson Dweh hurls a long throw into the penalty area but Lisandro Martinez rises highest to nod clear.

Plzen are having to go for it in stoppage time but that's leaving gaps at the back for United to counter. Amad Diallo carries the ball towards the penalty area at speed but gets the ball caught under his feet. That allows Vaclav Jemelka time to get back and win possession.
