The next task for Rangers is the Scottish League Cup final against Celtic, while Spurs travel to Southampton in the Premier League. Thanks for joining Tribe for this coverage. Until next time, this is Sanil Karan signing off.
In the end, both teams had to settle for a draw, maintaining their identical records and points tally of 11 points. Rangers, in particular, will feel disappointed to have let three points slip after a strong performance. Spurs, on the other hand, will be pleased with their resilience to come back into the game. Both teams still have a chance for qualification when they return to continental football in January.
Rangers took the lead just two minutes into the second half when Tavernier whipped an early cross into the box, and Hamza Igamane latched onto the ball to make it six goals in his last six appearances. Buoyed by the opener, Vaclav Cerny tried his luck from distance to quickly double the home side’s lead but Forster gathered the effort comfortably. Postecoglou made changes on the hour mark, bringing on Dominic Solanke among others as Spurs struggled to get going in the second half. These changes altered the dynamic of the contest, with Solanke providing a reverse pass for Dejan Kulusevski to slide home and set up a tense final 15 minutes. Despite Rangers’ efforts to regain the lead, Cyriel Dessers was denied by a superb save from Forster after creating space inside the box late on.
Opportunities were aplenty in the first half as Vaclav Cerny found Nedim Bajrami with a low strike just over the bar. Moments later, Son Heung-min squandered a golden chance for Spurs, steering his effort wide from James Maddison’s cutback. Cerny nearly broke the deadlock for Rangers just before halftime, but his shot was well saved by Fraser Forster. The contest promised plenty in terms of goals but lacked the necessary cutting edge and poor finishing meant the first half ended goalless.

Porro loses the ball on the right and Barron quickly capitalizes, driving forward for Rangers. Jefte then earns a free kick on the left after being fouled by Sarr. But Rangers can't take the free kick as the referee blows for fulltime.

SHOT! Maddison shifts the ball to Porro on the right, who opts for an ambitious shot from distance. However, it lacks accuracy and is straight at Butland, who gathers the ball comfortably. Spurs unable to test the keeper with that effort. Porro should've looked at other options.

WHAT A CHANCE! Bergvall finds Son on the left, who cuts back to Maddison. Maddison then delivers a chipped cross into the heart of the box where Solanke rises to head it. However, his effort is straight at Butland, who gathers comfortably. A missed opportunity for Spurs.

Rangers earn a free kick, and Jefte delivers a cross towards the right side of the box. Dessers meets the ball and slots it into the bottom right corner, but the flag quickly goes up for offside. Well offside.
