That wraps up our coverage of this Carabao Cup third round clash between Manchester City and Watford. Thank you for joining us on Tribe! Please tune in tomorrow for the final Carabao Cup clashes of round three, including an all Premier League affair between Liverpool and West Ham.
Meanwhile, there were not many shining performances from the Manchester City players tonight. Jack Grealish looked composed on the ball as he so often does, but will be disappointed not to add a goal to his performance. Meanwhile, youngsters Kaden Braithwaite and Nico O'Reilly produced decent displays.
City should have put the game to bed well before Ince's goal to be fair. Savinho and Jack Grealish both saw their shots blocked on the goal line, as Watford just about stayed in the game. Watford battled until the very end and will take some positives back into their Championship campaign, as they look to turnaround a recent dip in form. Kwadwo Baah looked the most dangerous player for the hornets, showing great speed and strength in sporadic moments of attack for Watford.
An entertaining second half comes to an end and it will be Manchester City who go into the hat for the fourth round draw, despite a nervy final few minutes in the dying stages of the game! In truth, City dominated the game throughout, until Tom Ince's goal in the 86th minute gave Watford a lifeline. After that, the game seemed to tip more in Watford's favour, with a flurry of attacking phases in the final stages of the game, but they were unable to muster any shots on target, as City held out.
90+5'
Giorgi Chakvetadze cannot quite squeeze the ball through to Ryan Porteus around the edge of City's penalty area and Stefan Ortega puts his foot through the ball to clear deep into the Watford half. That may well just be the final chance for Watford...
90+4'
Rico Lewis wins the defensive battle against Ken Sema, to earn a much needed goal kick for his Manchester City side inside the final minute of stoppage time.
90+3'
Giorgi Chakvetadze's cross from the free kick is intercepted by a sliding effort from Jack Grealish, before City sweep up and earn a throw, deep inside their own half.
90+2'
Jack Grealish concedes a free kick to Watford in a dangerous crossing position, 30 yards back from goal and wide on the right, with the majority of Watford's outfield players lining up on the edge of the penalty area in anticipation of the free kick delivery.
90+1'
Watford desperately try to progress upfield with possession, but the relatively high defensive press from Manchester City keeps Watford inside their own half, before a loose touch is made and City regain possession.
