That wraps things up here on Tribe, thanks for joining us. We'll be back tomorrow with all the action from the UEFA Europa and Conference Leagues as Manchester United, Chelsea, Spurs and Rangers all do battle. See you then!
So Juventus return to Serie A action at the weekend at home to Venezia, as they look to close the gap on league leaders Atalanta. They return to Champions League action with an away trip to Club Brugge in six weeks time. This result should ensure they qualify as one of the top 24, but they now trail the coveted top eight by just two points. Manchester City face a huge Manchester derby against city rivals United next on Sunday, but all eyes in January will be on a huge away clash at Paris Saint-Germain. City are 22nd and PSG 25th, so the loser of that one could be staring elimination firmly in the face ahead of the final round of matches.
Pep Guardiola will be seriously concerned at the ongoing decline from his side. The final ball just wasn't there for them tonight, with Kevin De Bruyne particularly guilty of failing to find the crucial pass to unlock the Juventus defence. Set pieces too often amount to nothing and the frustrations were clear to see on the faces and in the body language of this City side. They plugged away in the second half but created very few clear-cut chances of note against a resilient Juventus defence. Defensively it was disappointing to see how easily they were cut apart on the break for the crucial second goal. This result leaves them in real danger of elimination from the Champions League at the league phase, and makes their final two games in January crucial. They are also likely to need to play the two-legged knockout phase in February if they can progress via the top 24.
Juventus were so solid in the middle tonight and made it incredibly difficult for Manchester City to break them down. They kept Erling Haaland quiet apart from one chance he spurned late in the first half. Federico Gatti was immense at the back, while Manuel Locatelli frustrated City in defensive midfield time after time. When the chances came, Dusan Vlahovic nodded a header in to hand them the lead before a wonderful move on the break led to Weston McKennie converting fellow substitute and USA international Tim Weah's cross. From there the hosts were able to sit back and soak up the pressure, with Michele Di Gregorio having very little to do in the Juventus goal. He made a fine stop from Ilkay Gundogan's effort from the edge of the area to go with his stop from Haaland in the first half, and that was enough.
Juventus record a huge 2-0 win over Manchester City thanks to goals in the second half from Dusan Vlahovic and substitute Weston McKennie. City's miserable run extends to just one win from their last 10 games in all competitions. They will need to record positive results in their remaining two fixtures in January to secure progress.

Tim Weah gets his body in front of the ball and draws a foul from Josko Gvardiol in his own half. That will help eat up some time and relieve the pressure on the hosts.
We will have TWO extra minutes here as Juventus close in on a memorable victory.

Rico Lewis cuts inside off the left and takes a strike from just inside the Juventus penalty area. It deflects off the nearest defender and then Federico Gatti on the penalty spot. There's appeals for handball but they are waved away. The strike bounces kindly through for Michele Di Gregorio to gather on his line.
