That's all we have for this one. Stay with Tribe as Round 1 wraps up tomorrow with the clash between the Storm and Eels from AAMI Park in Melbourne. This is Anthony Morgan signing off.
The Sea Eagles head across the ditch to Auckland for a Friday night tussle with the Warriors in Round 2. The Cowboys return home to Townsville to take on the Sharks next Saturday night.
North Queensland will be looking for a much improved defensive display next weekend after they were well off the pace tonight. Manly tore them to shreds with 11 line breaks and 37 tackle busts of which they had little answer too until the final few minutes. Viliami Vailea put in a strong shift at centre with 210m, a line break and five tackle busts. His wing partner Braidon Burns also toiled hard with a try, 213m and nine tackle busts from 14 runs.
It was the Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans show for the Sea Eagles as they tore the Cowboys to shreds by engineering several brilliant attacking raids. Trbojevic was awfully hard to contain as he churned out two try assists, three line break assists and nine tackle busts in his 23 runs which netted 234m. Trbojevic was lethal on short side as he created space for Jason Saab (153m and five line breaks) to thrive. Cherry-Evans (two line breaks + two try assists) controlled the game brilliantly in combination with Luke Brooks. Haumole Olaukau'atu was a wrecking ball on the right edge with a line break and eight tackle busts in his 14 runs for 141m.
The Sea Eagles produced a scintillating attacking display as they ran in seven tries to two to sweep past the Cowboys 42-12 at 4 Pines Park. Leading 24-0 at halftime, the rout continued in the second half as Toafofoa Sipley willed his way over to score under the sticks in the 50th minute. Two minutes later they were in again when Daly Cherry-Evans and Tom Trbojevic combined to send Jason Saab away down the sideline before he popped in a pinpoint grubber for Reuben Garrick to score. Cherry-Evans added another in the 55th minute before the Cowboys belatedly hit back when Scott Drinkwater slipped through and streaked 35m to score. Braidon Burns added another for North Queensland two minutes from full time to add an element of respectability to the scoreline.

Bullemor works it over his 40m before Sipley rumbles across halfway on the second. Sipley's run will be the final one of the match as the siren sounds to cap a dominant first up win by the Sea Eagles.

Purdue claims the short kickoff as the Cowboys work it forward through McLean and Bateman. McIntyre is tackled 45m out on the fourth before Dearden plays short to Hess 32m out. Drinkwater pops in a threatening grubber on the left that is tapped back infield by Taulagi where Garrick defuses the threat near his goal line. Lawton is penalised for dangerous contact on the ground. Cherry-Evans finds touch 15m from halfway.

Drinkwater converts from 17m in from the right sideline.
