That wraps things up for this one here on Tribe, thanks for joining us. We've got all the Premier League action coming your way this week, including some very tasty looking fixtures tomorrow. See you then.
So Aston Villa drop to 10th as a result of wins for Fulham and Brighton elsewhere tonight. They have played a game more than most sides and have work to do in their final 10 league games if they want to qualify for Europe again. They host Cardiff City on Friday in the last 16 of the FA Cup before travelling to Club Brugge next week in the last 16 of the Champions League. Villa's next league game is away to Brentford in 12 days time. Crystal Palace rise to 12th and close the gap on Villa to six points. They are now on 36 points and will hope to make the quarter-finals of the FA Cup when they host Millwall on Saturday. They will fancy their chances of claiming a third successive league win when they welcome Ipswich to Selhurst Park in 12 days.
Aston Villa will not want to dwell on this defeat for long. They were simply second-best tonight and couldn't live with Palace's attacking threats. When Morgan Rogers equalised after a bright start to the second half you felt they might go on and win this, but after they fell behind a second time there was little response. Leon Bailey was brought on to provide more attacking threat down the right but left Villa exposed defensively time and time again in the second half. Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio weren't able to have much impact either after coming off the bench. Changes in formation from a three to a four at the back did little to help matters. Villa's poor away form continues, but they will be pleased to be back at home on Friday in the FA Cup.
What a night for Crystal Palace this was! Oliver Glasner's men were emphatic in attack and made Villa pay for their defensive weakness to record a statement victory. After picking up three points at Fulham on Saturday it's turning into a very good week for the Eagles. The combination of Ismaila Sarr, Eberechi Eze and Jean-Phillipe Mateta in attack was too hot to handle, with Sarr taking most of the plaudits tonight for his well-taken double. Mateta added his eighth goal in his last eight league appearances to move onto 12 for the season in the top flight. Defensively Palace stood strong and Chris Richards in particular had a superb night preventing Villa's attacks through the left channels.
Crystal Palace secure back-to-back league victories with an emphatic 4-1 win over Aston Villa tonight. This is just their third league win at Selhurst Park this season but they were full value for it. A brace from Ismaila Sarr, a rifled finish from Jean-Philippe Mateta and a late first in the league this season for Eddie Nketiah put the gloss on the result. Villa were poor defensively and couldn't kick on from the equaliser Morgan Rogers gave them early in the second half.
90+6'
SAVE! Marco Asensio whips the corner in from the right for Villa. Youri Tielemans runs across to the near post and bounces a header towards goal. Dean Henderson is equal to it at his near left post and pushes the effort away.
90+6'
Jean-Phillipe Mateta gets on the end of the Villa corner from the left at the near post. He glances a backwards header across and fortunately wide for another Villa corner from the right.
90+5'
Marco Asensio sends a hopeful ball into the Palace penalty area from deep on the left. Maxence Lacroix takes no chances volleying the ball behind for a late Villa corner.
90+4'
Leon Bailey dribbles forwards then backwards high up the Villa right. With few options available to him he ends up being caught out by a heavy touch and concedes a throw. It's been a dreadful night for Aston Villa.
