Thanks for joining me here on Tribe as Liverpool and Fulham played out a four-goal thriller at Anfield as the league leaders drop points this afternoon; I hope you’ve enjoyed our coverage; I’ve been Rory Morrow, and I look forward to seeing you again soon for another live text commentary!
Up Next - Carabao Cup duties for Liverpool as they aim to retain the trophy they won last season: they’re away at Southampton on Wednesday night in the quarterfinals before travelling to Spurs next Sunday in the league. Fulham are also in action earlier that same day, hosting The Saints at Craven Cottage.
Having held Spurs and Arsenal in recent weeks, that's another hugely credible result for Fulham today. Iwobi, in midfield, dictated play throughout whilst Robinson, ever overlapping down the left, led the way with two assists. There'll be disappointment at giving up a lead twice but for long spells, they made the Anfield crowd very anxious, which isn't something many away teams manage to do to Liverpool. Whilst Fulham could have won it, this is certainly a better point for them than it is Liverpool.
Liverpool won't be quite sure what to make of that. The obvious frustration will be that of two points dropped at home. However, they were a man light since 17 minutes in and showed admirable spirit to twice recover from conceding to ensure they didn't lose. Robertson's red card will create controversy but, undeniably, Liverpool were defensively loose and repeatedly vulnerable to Fulham's attacks, as demonstrated when Alisson denied Traore a winner in injury time. A point will have to suffice for this afternoon but it could have been a lot worse for them, as well.
TEN-MAN LIVERPOOL FRUSTRATED BY FULHAM - What a pulsating match of Premier League action that was at Anfield! The league leaders drop points as ten-man Liverpool come from behind twice to salvage a point against Fulham at home. Pereira put The Cottagers in front 11 minutes in, connecting with Robinson's cross. Robertson then saw red for the hosts, sent off for fouling Wilson and denying a clear goal scoring opportunity in the process. Liverpool roared into life after the interval when Salah set up Gakpo to equalise. 14 minutes from the end, though and Muniz looked to have won it for Fulham with a deft finish off the bench. Yet, Liverpool had an impact substitute of their own as Jota smashed them level and despite a chaotic late charge, Liverpool have to settle for a point.
90+9'
Elliott's delivery is cleared, at the front post, by Muniz. The ball's sent back to Elliott, on the right hand side. He whips in a better cross which Leno comes off his line to fist clear for Fulham.
90+8'
Gravenberch, down the left, finds Elliott in space. His ball right to Quansah sees the latter's cross put behind by Robinson for a Liverpool corner...
90+6'
SAVE - Alisson keeps Liverpool level! Fulham counter and carve their hosts open again. Smith Rowe makes the incisive pass from a central position, putting Traore into space on the right-side of the penalty area. He steps away from Gomez and arrows a shot in that Alisson spreads himself big to save! van Dijk, on his six-yard line, completes the clearance.
90+3'
CHANCE - Absolute pinball inside the penalty box as Liverpool ferociously chase a late winner. Jota, coming away from Castagne, sees his low strike blocked by Lukic. The rebound pops up to Diaz. He shimmies away from Muniz then moves forward with his effort deflected over the top by Cuenca! Leno claims Elliott's resulting corner delivery, from the right.
