The Wellington Phoenix have held out defensively to clinch a draw away from home with Sydney FC. Make sure you join us again on Tribe next week for all the international action, including both the All Whites and Socceroos. It's been a pleasure bringing you this one from Allianz Stadium in Sydney. For now, Harrison Ryburn signing out.
It's a chance now for both sides to reset with the international break starting later this week. Sydney FC will be back in action at home to Melbourne City in a few weeks time, whilst the Phoenix will host the Wanderers.
Frustration for Sydney FC at the final whistle. They were on the front foot for almost the entirety of the match, and will see this as three points dropped. Perhaps the win in continental action during the week took a bit out of them, but Talay's side should have no excuse for the way they took their foot off the gas inside seven minutes. They allowed the Phoenix to formulate a response, and struggled to find a way through when the visitors built some confidence. A lack of accuracy and ruthlessness in the final third was their undoing, and they remain three points clear of the top six.
A very resillient effort from the Phoenix away from home this evening. It wasn't convincing by any stretch of the imagination, but they did enough to hold out Sydney's probing attack for the vast majority, particuarly as the likes of Costa and Caceres turned up the heat late on. After conceding inside the first seven minutes, it looked as if Giancarlo Italiano's men would be in for another tough night. It took a while, but they did rally to find a foothole, thanks largely to a drop in intensity from their opponents. They pushed higher, fought a lot harder off the ball, and did well to shut down space inside the penalty box. Josh Oluwayemi also came up with a couple of massive saves upon his return to the starting eleven to save the day late on, and Italiano will be happy with the performance the result to end their losing run.
Full-time at Allianz Stadium and the Wellington Phoenix have rallied defensively to hold Sydney FC to a credible draw. It was wave after wave of Sky Blues attack for the vast majority of the contest, but the Phoenix weathered the storm, helped by a couple of big late saves from Josh Oluwayemi, and some disciplined defending. It means Italiano's side avoid making club history of losing five in a row, and dent Sydney's push in the race for the top six.

Costa comes across to take the corner off the right, but his low delivery into the near post is poor, and Payne gets it clear. Wellington try to get a counter going, and Ishige finds Rufer over the top. The latter takes too long to get a shot away from the top of the box though, and Ryhan Grant rushes back to throw his body in the way.
90+4'
Talay is displaying plenty of frustration on the sideline, as Sydney continue to push for what would be a crucial winner in their race for the top six. Caceres and Courtney-Perkins combine on the left this time, before switching it for Rhyan Grant on the opposite flank. Quintal opens for a shot on his left foot from long range, but it deflects past the right post for another corner.
