That wraps up a wild one at Mt Smart, but thanks for joining us. This is Ryan Nixon (@NewYorkNixon) signing off.
Adelaide meanwhile are likely wondering how they've scored four against the best defense in the competition, but only come away with a point. They showed plenty of attacking creativity and thrust, but were let down by some shaky keeping and defence, particularly around set piece. Auckland, as they did to snatch an equaliser in the first fixture between the sides, capitalised on that set piece shakiness.
It's a result that will leave Steve Corica fuming, but at the same time does ensure Auckland take a point against a fellow top of the table rival. They'll be wondering how they didn't take away all three from a game in which they scored four goals, but went through patches of the game where they didn't control the midfield, and enabled Adelaide to get on top. Defensively, they weren't nearly as assured as they have been in most games this season, with Alex Paulsen shaky, and Nando Pijnaker and Tommy Smith left to struggle with the Adelaide attacking threats. While two goals did come from spot kicks, it was a result of inviting pressure around their area in uncharacteristic fashion.
Auckland restored their two goal advantage when Logan Rogerson nodded home from a corner, but a pair of Adelaide penalties were duly converted by Zac Clough, and suddenly the game was back level at 3-3. Auckland then took control going into stoppage time, and looked the more likely of the two sides to snatch a late winner. They thought they had too, when captain Hiroki Sakai poked home inside of the added time. However, Adelaide had one last say, and scrambled home again to complete a wild encounter.
An outrageous game of A-League football ends with the wildest of scorelines, as Auckland and Adelaide share an eight goal thriller! Early on, it seemed as though Auckland were going to run rampant for the second week in a row, as Guillermo May grabbed a pair of early goals to stake an early two goal advantage. Adelaide managed to settle though, and managed to get themselves on the board via a goalmouth scramble from a corner. That was just reward too, as Adelaide started to look the better side leading into the break, but gave no indication of the wild second half that was about to follow.
90+12'
The corner from Tatu flicks through the area and May then hacks clear.
90+11'
Late corner, as a ball forward towards Mauk flicks off Elliot and goes behind. Mauk thinks he should have a penalty after clattering into Elliot, but there's nothing doing.

Surely there can't be more?! Auckland try and get forward, but Randall ends up being whistled for a foul after a cross into the box.

ADELAIDE FIND AN EQUALISER! It's Ayoubi who gets a cross in from the right, which Auckland can't deal with and it ends up bobbling into the path of Vriends. He pokes it towards goal and it bobbles its way home! What an incredible game of football!
