There were a couple of uncharacteristic errors from New Zealand early on as well, and it gave South Africa some great opportunities to get themselves onto the board. The relentless efforts of the Blitzboks on defence put further pressure on New Zealand, and it left them going backwards and having to through some messy passes to try and get themselves onto the front foot.
A massive effort from South Africa! They only just snuck into the quarterfinals by the skin of their teeth, but they were absolutely brutal here against New Zealand! Some epic defending right on their line to prevent the Kiwis getting over the line proved to be crucial, and two great tries in the half was enough to take the game out of reach!

New Zealand clean up and spread it wide through the hands to the right wing, but they're making no ground with these passes... Cook-Savage with the burst up the touchline, but his offload lands in South African hands! The hooter sounds as they run it backwards, and it's booted into the stands for the final whistle! South Africa to the semifinal!
13'
Williams clears to touch for the lineout up on the 10. Lost forward by Pretorius in the air!
12'
Ball popped out the back of the scrum for the kick, and it's a huge one! Leo only just manages to keep it infield as it bobbles back to his 22. Popped on the inside through the hands, and Rokolisoa bursts up into the 22! He's all on his own though, and South Africa have forced the turnover! They drive back up into contact, and New Zealand pinged for hands in the cookie jar!
11'
New Zealand call for the scrum! They pop it to Carter on the right who drives up a couple of metres. Shift back infield where Ng Shiu is a metre short when he's driven backwards! Rokolisoa not going to make it over the line. Back inside to Carter who is stopped short, and slipped by the Kiwis right in front of the posts!
Time off as a couple of changes are made...
10'
Quick ball wide to Rush who barges up the right wing and up to the 10 with a huge carry! Recycled infield and wide to the left wing where there's another break, this one up to the 22! Advantage called as South Africa inch offside, and the shift through to the right is going nowhere. Back for the penalty.
9'
South Africa off the back for the chip kick ahead, and it's Van Wyk who goes flying after it! He gets there just 5m from the touchline, but has to jump high to try and gather and knocks it on!
