The momentum shifted a bit in the second half, with Argentina getting ball in hand and forcing France onto the defensive, but they were only able to put two tries on the board before France added another with a final flourish right on the buzzer to secure their spot in the final. It was beautiful, expansive rugby from the hosts, and they have a well-deserved spot in the semis to show for it!
France take the win and they are through to the semifinals of their home Olympics! They started off the first half absolutely flying, scoring three tries in quick succession to take a huge lead into the break. Argentina barely saw the ball in the first half, with France chasing well at the restarts to put pressure on Los Pumas and force a couple of errors. They pounced on those to get themselves onto the front foot and into the right areas of the pitch to get themselves onto the board.
