Fiji will be bitterly disappointed to have fallen short right at the last moment, but it's delight for Les Bleus as they will go through to the final against Argentina later tonight. The Flying Fijians will have to settle for fighting for the bronze against Australia.
Both sides spread the ball around very well, but Fiji did find themselves under a decent amount of pressure in the midfield with France lightning fast off the defensive line at times. Fiji made some huge tackles out in the wide channels, but also founds themselves clutching at air as France managed to find space around the outside on a couple of occasions.
In the second half the two sides traded tries, with Fiji hitting the lead first in the second 7 before France went over just moments later. It looked like Fiji might take it as they ran in another two minutes before the hooter off a stunning break, but Les Bleus weren't going to be ruled out just yet and came back swinging with a try after the buzzer despite some very messy moments in that last passage of play after a mistake from Fiji at their own scrum.
What an upset! France go from only one win in the pool phases this weekend and only just sneaking into the playoffs to beating the Flying Fijians, the side that have won more titles here in Hong Kong than any other, to book a spot in the final tonight! They started off the game on a wobbly note with a yellow card right off the bat, but only let one try slip in those two minutes and quickly put two of their own on the board before the break to take the lead into halftime.

TMO says the try is good! Garcia had to dig the ball out from under his own body there as he was pulled down just short, but he is allowed to place it and the grounding is good! France will win it!

Back to Timo on the right wing, and he offloads well! Infield to Sepho who offloads as well, but it looks like it's been knocked on there 5m from the line! The referee says not, and it's Garcia who scoops up the loose ball and drives for the chalk! We're going upstairs to decide try or no try, and the latter means extra time as we are in the red here!
