That will be one of the best turn arounds from an NRL side in a long time. The Roosters were pumped last week and totally written off during this week. They had plenty of player omissions through the week and then come out and put in a phenomenal performance to down the reigning Premiers and come away with important points! Smith was excellent calling the shots, while the back three of Tedesco at fullback and his outsides of Young and Tupou were simply dominant. Up front, the likes of Whyte, Wong and Crichton were superb. A trip across the ditch awaits the Roosters next week as they take on the Warriors.

Penrith will be hurting this evening. The first half was average and the start of the second was similar. They lacked cohesion across the park at times before Cleary looked to take the game by the scruff of the neck late. They also now have an injury concern around Edwards who left the field late with a groin injury. Up front, the likes of Martin and Yeo were again massive but ultimately they couldn’t find their a way to get their side home. They head to Melbourne to take on the Storm next week.

The Panthers were not at their best this evening. They made a stack of errors and missed even more tackles! They looked dead and buried with 10 minutes to go but the sin binning of Foketi changed the match! The Panthers took a quick two to reduce the deficit to ten points before McLean crossed moments later! Cleary hit the post on the conversion attempt and then nailed another penalty with a minute left! They looked likely to score on the last play of the game but the tackle from Tupou in the corner to force the error on the star winger was the clinching moment for the Roosters!

Another restart for the Roosters and Tedesco goes long up the right. Laurie returns on his 10. Quickly to the left with Smith over the 20. Back into the middle as Yeo moves it back across the left. They keep it alive early in the count as Garner almost slips through on the 40! Over halfway goes Yeo! It comes out right with Martin 40 out from the line. Cleary is hit 20 out! On the last the Panthers move it right! TO'O DIVES INTO THE CORNER! WE GO UPSTAIRS! He dives for the corner but loses it just short of the line! THE CHOOKS HANG ON!

Cleary knocks through the two from 15 left of the sticks! It will come down to one set for the Panthers!

The Roosters go long on the goal line drop out. Back with it is Sorensen on the 30! Smith carts it forward on the 20. Back to the right as Cleary throws a loose ball. Tago mops up 20 out on the right edge. Dumped away out to the left! The ball is knocked down by Young and the penalty has gone the way of the Panthers as the Roosters are offside!
