That's all we have for this one. Stay with Tribe for a Friday NRL double header which begins with the clash between the Wests Tigers and Knights from Campbelltown Sports Stadium. This is Anthony Morgan signing off.
It doesn't get any easier for the Roosters in Round 2 as they head to CommBank Stadium to take on the Panthers next Friday night. The Broncos remain on the road as they head to Canberra to take on the Raiders next Saturday night.
The Broncos laid down an early claim for Premiership favouritism with a slick nine-try attacking display in wet conditions. Reece Walsh had his moments with a try and line break in his 23 runs which netted 220m. Pat Carrigan was enormous in his 67 minutes with 246m and 21 tackles, while front row partner Payne Haas provided the explosiveness with 165m and nine tackle busts. Xavier Willison provided huge impact from the bench with 145m from 14 runs.
Missing a number of first choice starters, the Roosters were cut to smithereens by a ruthless Broncos' outfit. James Tedesco never stopped trying with 159m and three tackle busts as well as a number of crucial defensive plays at the back. Centres Mark Nawaqanitawase and Robert Toia were standouts for the Tricolours with a combined 259m and 11 tackle busts from 21 runs.
The Broncos went right on with the job in the second half as they demolished the Roosters 14-50 at Allianz Stadium. Leading 4-20 at halftime, Brisbane extended their lead in the 44th minute when Deine Mariner chipped over the top before Adam Reynolds hacked it ahead for Selwyn Cobbo to finish a brilliant try. Cobbo made it two tries in four minutes when Reynolds popped in a deft chip on the right before Ben Hunt marked his return to the Broncos with a try in the 54th. Reece Walsh pushed them past 40 before the Roosters pegged a try back through Sandon Smith on the hour mark. Jesse Arthars got on the score sheet in the 67th before Cobbo tiptoed down the sideline to complete his hat-trick with 10 minutes remaining. Dom Young scored the opening try of the match and he also bookended the scoring when he spun past Arthars and carried Cory Paix over for a consolation try in the 75th minute.
80'
Gosiewski takes the short dropout before Hetherington surges 10m out on the second. Carrigan takes a settler 8m out as the clock winds down to zero to cap a dominant Brisbane win on the road.
79'
Losalu is pick-pocketed by Walsh as Brisbane go back onto attack through Cobbo close to the line. Hunt pops in a grubber towards the posts where Collins gets back to ground it for a dropout.
78'
Reynolds finds touch 7m from halfway as Mariner takes it into contact. Walters zips out of dummy half and unloads to Hetherington who is cut down from behind 20m out. Arthars is contained by Young near the corner on the third before Walsh's kick is picked off by Losalu.
77'
Foketi brings it back from the kickoff before Tupou takes it up to his 20m on the second. Watson shimmies his way up to the 40m before Whyte takes a hit up to halfway on the fourth. Tedesco slips 42m out on the left before Townsend bombs high to Walsh who spills it forward near his 20m. Dockar-Clay, however, is caught offside from the kick so the Broncos will get the penalty.
