That rounds things off from Celtic Park. Bayern Munich walk away the winners on the night! For now, this is Nicholas Friedlander signing out.
The only disappointment here for Bayern, is that they have not totally killed off this tie, the Maeda goal will keep Celtic interested for the second leg, so they will have to go out all guns blazing to ensure there is no chance of a comeback. Michael Olise was dangerous and took his goal well, as did Harry Kane, but it was Jamal Musiala who stole the show. His fleet-footed dribbling was too much for the Celtic defence, who were simply unable to cope with what he was throwing at them. Dayot Upamecano was also fairly active in defence, making several key interventions.
It feels like a case of what-if for Celtic. They opened the scoring inside 16 seconds, only to have it scrubbed out for an offside. They failed to build on that, with zero shots in the first half. The substitutions sparked things up in the second half, but the game was already somewhat gone. The intensity of the press increased when Daizen Maeda went centrally, and with a bit of luck, he might have forced an equaliser, but it was not to be. Alistair Johnston was another to have a strong game, providing plenty of threat as he bombed on from right back. Kasper Schmeichel was solid, and could have done nothing about either goal. It will take a minor miracle for them to overturn this you feel.
Bayern Munich have come to Glasgow and they have departed with a lead in the tie. They were not at their best, but they did not need to be, as they got over the line. It was a goal either side of the break that did the trick, with Michael Olise's thunderbolt and Harry Kane's acrobatic effort seeing them two goals up, before Daizen Maeda got one back for the home side. It keeps them somewhat in the tie, but you really feel they needed to get a result tonight if they were to be a chance at progressing.
90+7'
Celtic earn a deep foul, so they launch it into the channel for Maeda, but he could do little with it. The home side have run out of time, it is Bayern who get out with a win.
90+6'
Celtic finally get the ball, but with time running out it is now or never. They have it on halfway.
90+5'
Bayern are doing well to slow the game down at the moment, as they look to see this one out.
90+3'
Engels drops it right on top of a group of players at the near post, but it did not quite drop for the home side, as Upamecano thrashed it away.
90+2'
Johnston's ball into the front post is headed away, but McGregor was able to reload, fading it up to the back post. Neuer called for it, but Upamecano took no chances, glancing behind for another corner.
