A walk in the park for the All Whites today, and it felt like a glorified training run for them at times, despite this being a semi-final. The week's preparation they had clearly paid dividends, and they were a class above anything Tahiti had to offer. Tahiti probably pressed higher than Bazeley would have been expecting, but his men were still good enough to expose the space left in-behind and out wide. Again they dictated the possession and tempo, before continually plugging the gaps with Howieson and Rufer distributing the ball around the park well. That allowed the likes of Just, Waine, Barbarouses, and Old to run at the defence, creating an abundance of oppostunities. On another day New Zealand probably could have seven or eight for all the chances they created, but Bazeley will still be a happy man with the comfort and dominance of their display. Cacace was the man of the match at left-back, continually defeating defenders down the left and providing three assists, whilst also adding cover in defence. Waine and Barbarouses will also go away happy with their two goals each.
