That is all we have for you from Eden Park this evening. Thanks for joining into Tribe's World Cup qualification coverage. Until next time, I'm Dan Gread signing off.
While New Caledonia will be disappointed with the result this evening, they can absolutely hold their heads up high as they played above the expected standard to give this All Whites side a real run for their money. The likes of Bako and Jeno were excellent through the middle of the park but lacked the support up front. The star of the show for New Caledonia was goalkeeper Nyikeine. He kept New Caledonia in the match for large periods before the goals started to flow for New Zealand. All is not lost on the World Cup qualification stage for New Caledonia. They will get another chance at qualification as they head to a playoff tournament in early 2026 with five other teams vying for two spots at the World Cup.
The All Whites will celebrate this evening. This is just the third time that they have qualified for a FIFA World Cup. After 1982 and 2010, they can now add 2026 to that list! Their next task is the Canadian Shield four-team tournament in June.
New Zealand were totally dominant this evening on their way to victory! They would have been very frustrated at the end of the first half with the scores locked up nil all. They came out in the second half looking to dominate again and lost Chris Wood early as he took a knock to the hip. Barbarouses came into the play and changed the game! The drought-breaker came from Michael Boxall rising at the back post to nod home his first goal for New Zealand! Barbarouses then added a second with a piece of brilliance lobbing a ball over the keeper before Just put the result beyond doubt as he slammed one home at the near post!
NEW ZEALAND ARE THROUGH TO THE 2026 FIFA WORLD CUP!

New Zealand swing the ball in from the free kick on the left but it is over the top of the net! THE FINAL WHISTLE GOES AND NEW ZEALAND ARE THROUGH!
90+6'
De Vries lofts it onto the right for Bell who brings it down near the corner. Drifts a ball in towards the back post but New Caledonia clear a ball away. Going down in a heap is Barbarouses in the tackle of Bako and he gets the first yellow card of the evening!

SHOT! The All Whites send a ball back for Crocombe at the top of his box. Bindon walks it forward with De Vries in support. It is turned over as New Caledonia sweep it left and up field but it rolls over the sideline. New Zealand are back looking for space on the left. Lovely turn from Bindon as he feeds a ball through for Barbarouses! Lofts a ball from the byline back for Payne! He lunges onto the header but it is blocked at the six yard box!
