That rounds things off from Leipzig. A huge win for Aston Villa! For now, this is Nicholas Friedlander signing out.
Aston Villa are enjoying life back at the European top table. They are now third in the Champions League, and are odds on to earn a spot in the top eight, particularly with remaining fixtures away in Monaco and at home to Celtic. They showed their frailities tonight, but equally showed why they are going to be a problematic side, well set up for knockout football. They have a keeper in Emi Martinez who can make big saves, but going forward, they have individuals capable of creating something from nothing. Though not the winner, John Dhuran's long-range effort was key to the win, and there are few players who could have pulled that off. He continues to push for more regular football. Youri Tielemans was too superb, controlling things well in the middle of the park.
Marco Rose's men have somehow lost six from six in this Champions campaign, but they have hardly been blown away, and they will be scratching their heads at how this has happened. Tonight they gave it a good go, drawing level twice, and as mentioned they really should have gone 3-2 to the good late on. Lois Openda was the man who spurned that chance, but was the best player for the home side on the night, causing plenty of danger. Antonio Nusa was also very bright, causing issues down the left flank. Ultimately though, it matters little. Their hopes of progressing are over, meaning they can now put full focus on getting back into the Champions League next season.
RB Leipzig's Champions League journey comes to an end after a late effort from Ross Barkley was deflected past Peter Gulacsi. It could have been so different for the home side, who were gifted an opportunity moments earlier to fire their way, only for Lois Openda to scuff it, allowing Emiliano Martinez to smother it. Villa were worth the win, and had the better of the chances, but on the balance of the game, Leipzig will feel they should have got a point at the very least.
90+4'
A couple of hopeful ball forwards come to nothing, before the referee blows the final whistle seconds before the allotted stoppage time is even finished! That is all from Leipzig.
90+3'
Nusa skips nicely past Nedeljkovic down the left, whipping it into the centre. It was flicked on to the back post, where Maatsen failed to clear! Openda tried a tough side-foot sliced volley and got it all wrong, with it tamelessly spinning out for a goal kick.
90+2'
Rogers is working hard again, and this time he draws the free kick around halfway to allow Vila to kill some time.
90+1'
A long ball forwards allows Rogers to put pressure onto Geertruida, but he ends up conceding the foul. RB Leipzig quickly get the ball rolling again.
