That's all we've got time for on Tribe, I'm afraid. Until next time, this is James Messenger saying goodbye!
In their first league game in a post-Erik ten Hag world, the points are shared at Old Trafford as Manchester United and Chelsea are forced to share the spoils. Neither team can have a particularly strong argument for deserving all three points, such was the scrappy nature of proceedings for such large swathes. A rash decision from Robert Sanchez sent Rasmus Hojlund tumbling inside the penalty area near the midway point of the second half, and from the resultant penalty, Bruno Fernandes gave Ruud's Reds lift-off in front of the Stretford End. But Chelsea are so dangerous on the road, and a crisp volley from Moises Caicedo earned them a point four minutes later. Van Nistelrooy and co are denied a league win at the first attempt, but the smattering of applause which greets the full-time whistle tells it's own story.
Honours even at Old Trafford!

Fernandes' corner is headed away at the near post, and the whistle goes to the referee's lips!
90+6'
Still we play as United win a corner! Caicedo was the player in the right place at the right time to divert a low cross out of the reach of Zirkzee, whose eyes lit up momentarily near the edge of the six-yard box. One last chance...

A bit of push-and-shove after that challenge results in Jackson and Diallo seeing yellow too.

A really poor challenge from Martinez, who flies in to try and win the ball from Palmer and catches him on the knee with his studs. Not a lot of force behind the challenge, but still a really late, high one from the Argentine. A yellow card is awarded, and after a quick VAR check for a possible red, the decision is made to stick with the on-field call.
