That is all we have time for on Tribe as managerless Everton progress to the FA Cup fourth round. I have been Elliot Thompson and thank you for joining me. Tune in with us tomorrow on Tribe for more live coverage of the FA Cup third round.
Peterborough United have been struggling this season and you could tell. Everton looked nervy which is no surprise yet Peterborough didn't take advantage of it. Hayes had a chance from a corner which was cleared by Branthwaite in the six-yard box. In the second half, you wouldn't have realised this was a cup tie. Lindgren had a shot at goal which was never threatening Virginia but that was about it. Darren Ferguson will have been disappointed even after throwing on several attackers. Unfortunately, he didn't substitute on Tyler Young for some FA Cup history. If he did it would have been the first-ever father against son in the competition. However, it wasn't to be for the Young's or for Peterborough. They face Leyton Orient next in League One.
EVERTON ARE THROUGH TO THE FOURTH ROUND OF THE FA CUP! Well, that was a professional display from Everton who made sure they are still in the FA Cup. It was always going to be a bizarre 90 minutes due to the circumstances, as Sean Dyche was sacked a few hours before kick-off. Nevertheless, Beto was the one who broke the deadlock just before half-time. He was sent through by Armstrong. Beto kept himself onside and took a touch around the goalkeeper before sliding the ball home. The second half was a flat affair as Peterborough didn't attack the Everton defence too much. In the last few minutes, Everton won a penalty due to Branthwaite being dragged to the floor. Ndiaye stepped up to finish with confidence. Now the Everton fans can wait to see who their next manager in charge will be, contently, knowing they are still in the cup.

EVERTON ARE IN THE HAT FOR THE FOURTH ROUND! Ndiaye puts the ball down on the spot after zero arguments about the decision. He steps up giving the goalkeeper the eyes before slotting the ball down the middle. A confident penalty!

EVERTON HAVE A SPOT-KICK! A free-kick from the left is clipped into O'Brien. He flicks the ball onto Branthwaite who is dragged down by Katongo. The referee gives himself a second before pointing to the spot.

O'Brien passes the ball into the feet of Harrison. He flicks it around the corner to Young. Hayes shields him away from the ball but Young continues to press him. Young from behind bundles him over giving away a free-kick. He can't believe it but that wastes some seconds for Everton.

Conn-Clarke prepares to shoot on the edge of the area but slips. He has now stayed down with cramp. A couple of players come over to stretch his legs so he should be ok to finish the game.
