That's all from me tonight, with Western United gaining another couple of points on the league leaders with a handy win over Perth. I've been Carl Allport with all the action for you live here on Tribe - see you next time!
Western United are now only 5 points from the lead with 12 points up for grabs - it's still on! Perth sit stuck on 11 points with Brisbane, having payed two games more and 17 goals behind. Next week, Western United will head up to Sydney for a crucial match against the Wanderers, while it doesn’t get any easier for Perth as they host top-6 Adelaide.
Perth keep finding new and innovative ways of losing. That own goal has to be seen to be believed, three Perth players combining to put the ball in their own net. Pennington tried hard, Pearman scored a cracker with his only touch of the match and Risden provided a little go-ahead in the second half. It's not enough, though, and Perth are rooted to the bottom of the table.
Western United were challenged here - whether it was an ugly win by a team in form or a lucky own goal that turned the tide depends on what colours you're wearing. What you can't argue about is that Angus Thurgate ran the show tonight, ably deputized by Bozinovski and Grimaldi setting up and scoring goals. All of their substitutes were dangerous as well, in a solid all-round performace.
And that is the end of that. Bozinovski got the scoring under way early on before Pearman replied wonderfully early in the second half. Just when it looked like Perth may have the running, they managed to conspire for an own goal and then Najjarine sealed it on the break late on.

Why Ruhs would upend Pennington in the last minute, two goals ahead, is beyond me. But that's exactly what he does and gets a well-earned yellow for his brainfade.

CLOSE! Thurgate with a slide rule ball for Botic in the right channel. Botic shoots - beats Sail but also the left upright!

A bit scrappy now with half of the outfield players being substitutes. Perth keep huffing and puffing, Pennington with another intercept.
