That's all we have for this one. Stay with Tribe for coverage of the second semi-final between New Zealand and France which gets underway shortly in Cape Town. This is Anthony Morgan signing off.
Ireland toiled hard for the full 80 minutes despite getting obliterated in the scrums. Oliver Coffey put in some nice kicks while Finn Treacy and Hugh Gavin asked questions of the England defence with their carries. Brian Gleeson brought plenty of impact in defence but unfortunately for Ireland they were unable to garner the field position to put any sustained pressure on England in the second half.
England used their scrum dominance to full effect with several penalties keeping both the scoreboard ticking over and Ireland pinned in their own half. Craig Wright got through a mountain of work with his carries while at the breakdown Junior Kpoku was an immovable force over the ball. Ioan Jones provided plenty of spark in the backline with a couple of clean breaks while the boot of Sean Kerr was an important factor as he compiled four penalties and two conversions in addition to his try for a personal haul of 21 points.
England powered their way into the U20 World Championship Final after a solid 31-20 win over Ireland in the first semi-final at DHL Stadium in Cape Town. After a free-flowing first half that saw England lead 22-20 at the break, the scoring dried up in the second as both defences tightened up. Sean Kerr's boot kept England ticking along with penalties in the 52nd and 58th minutes before another in the final minute secured a deserved 11-point victory.

James takes it off the back of the scrum and surges up to his 10m line. Friday then puts up a box kick that is claimed by Treacy who is swamped by a good kick chase 20m short of halfway. England are awarded a penalty several phases later for holding on after some quality breakdown work by Kpoku. Kerr will shoot for goal from 30m out to the left of the posts.

Ireland attempt a trick-shot play down the short side from the lineout. Smyth bursts into the clear but a well-timed ankle tap by Friday sees the ball spill forward. England with the scrum 15m short of halfway.

Wright steamrolls inside the 22m as England work it towards the middle of the park. Carnduff is penalised for holding on however and Ireland find touch 47m out.
