After a thrilling end to end Cup Final, Australia have outlasted New Zealand 26-28 at HBF Park. After the sides were locked 14-14 at halftime, Australia regained the lead when Charlotte Caslick split the middle of the defence and outpaced the defence on an 85m run to score under the posts. New Zealand hit back a minute later when Michaela Brake put on the afterburners to score her second try. A break by Teagan Levi put Australia hot onto attack before a crisp long bounce pass sat up perfectly for Heidi Dennis, who streaked away for her second try. The Black Ferns 7s weren't done however as Risi Pouri-Lane scored out wide with a minute left. Her conversion crucially went wide and Australia managed to play out the final 30 seconds despite a couple of hairy moments.

AUSTRALIA HOLD ON! Australia attempt to wind down the clock by attacking from side to side inside their 22m. The Black Ferns 7s come close to claiming a turnover but Australia manage to recycle before an errant pass bounces around dangerously near their goal line. The ball is scooped up by Hinds who is bundled back in-goal but with time up on the clock the referee blows for full time.
