Thanks for joining me here on Tribe as Darcy Graham scored four as Scotland outscored Fiji 57-17 at Murrayfield in their Autumn Nations Series opener this evening; I hope you’ve enjoyed our coverage; I’ve been Rory Morrow and I look forward to seeing you again soon for another live text commentary!
Up Next - Scotland have just over a week to ready themselves for the visit of current World Champions, South Africa next Sunday. Fiji continue their Northern hemisphere tour by taking on Wales earlier that same afternoon.
Fiji caused their own issues in falling behind as Lomani and Vota paid dearly for their sin bin spells. When they did have a full fifteen, they were impressive and had Scotland slightly ragged by the end of the first half. Full-back, Armstrong-Ravula was assured going forwards while hooker, Ikanivere captained his team well, leading by example with his smartly taken score. The defence and discipline, though, needless to say, both need to improve if they are to win games during this Autumn tour.
Scotland played some scintillating rugby this evening. Their first-half blitz, four tries in twelve minutes, put them in prime position as they exploited their man advantage during those early stages of the game. Hastings, who racked up 17 points off the boot, was outstanding whilst Graham was clinical every time he bore down on the try-line. Up front, the pack played well, giving the backs licence to go and strut their creative stuff; they duly did with the artful Jones also very impressive. One concern might be how they let Fiji come back into proceedings either side of half-time, Scotland didn't score a try in-between any of Fiji's and that momentum swing had Murrayfield temporarily worried. It's a focus they'll need to hold for all 80 minutes in some of their upcoming fixtures.
SCOTLAND COMMENCE AUTUMN NATIONS SERIES WITH A WIN - A 40-point victory for Scotland as their Autumn starts successfully and stylishly! Eight tries in total; four of them for the sublime Graham whilst Jones took two himself, Rowe and van der Merwe dotting down the others. Fiji kept coming and scored themselves through Armstrong-Ravula, Derenalagi and Ikanivere. However, overall, a comfortable enough opening-Autumn win for The Scots at Murrayfield!
DOBIE DENIED LATE ON - Scotland nearly finish with another try as van der Merwe speeds down the left-hand side, finding Dobie inside who canters in under the posts, unopposed. However, the TMO spots that van der Merwe was marginally in touch and the try is chalked off. That will be that.

Hastings, excellent off the tee all evening, converts from 18m out, on the right-hand touchline.

JONES GETS HIS SECOND TRY - A well-worked lineout sees Richardson find Williamson. Dobie takes the ball out, feeding Hastings on the edge of the 22m line. He wedges a wonderful cross-field kick wide right to Jones who calmly lets the ball bounce and then dots it down with ease for his second try tonight!
